well, terraforming depends on the planet you start with, and the desired result.

if you start with a dead rock (like say, the moon) your going to need alot more work than if you star out with a marginally habitable world (like say, Dune, which was habitable, but rather harsh.)

it also depends on the resources available to you. magic and technological methods will differ, and tech methods will be dependant on how advanced you are.

so what kind of resources and worlds are you working with?

I'm trying to get away from the cookie-cutter approach of naming (Paradise-I, Paradise-II, luck town, etc)..

Better yet...look at some travel brochures for resorts and casinos....expand it from 'inn' or 'resort' to 'planet', 'world', 'refuge'. 'retreat', etc....If worlds are terraformed in hopes of eventually attracting colonists, the developers, in tru real estate mogul sty;e, will try to peg them with really attractive names to pull in the sucker...er, investors.... so avoid numbers...go for pizzazz....

I did the same thing to paradises1-5 but I added in unique things like making paradise 1 a skraypers type planet, Paradise 2 is entirely inhabited by the mechanoids and runs a little bit like the GURPS book REIGN of STEEL where it's humans vs. the mechanoids(and as it stands now the mechanoids are all wiped out on this planet making way for mechanoids space to start here-WHENEVER IT SEES THE LIGHT OF DAY!), Paradise 3 is my "Hoth" planet-enitrely ice and filled with all kinds of nasty beasties,Paradise 4 is my "Starside" planet entirely inhabited by the Vamphyri from Brian Lumley's Necroscope saga, Paradise 5 is the planet where Palladium world actually is and all are forbidden to enter the planet's airspace or surface due to a natural barrier that occurs on this planet(that and what fun would it be to let my players destroy this planet when I might just use it to make them meet their fantasy characters during a rift(ala KODT)
