Expanded Occupations
Some notes before we get started.
Note 1: In protest the amount of fluff text replacing stuff I could have actually used in BTS2, the following new occupations have the bare minimum of fluff text.
Note 2: The list of skills from non-BTS sources used is at the bottom of the document.
Note 3: I happened to have liked the movie Dog Soldiers and feel that pretty much everything written in BTS2 about the lack of military occupations is bunk.
Note 4: I also happen to think the shift away from learning new skills as the character gains in experience is likewise bunk, so all the new occupations have additional skills as they go up.
Note 5: No list of occupations could be complete from me without a Ninja occupation, so you got one, though I doubt it will get used much, since it only really fits in games that would require you to convert other stuff anyway.

Can you do this sort of thing in shorter posts? That cuts down on the scrolling per page.

Yes, and I even made up the Mixology skill, however, I was attempting to keep to official skills for the most part when it came to creating these occupations. (The TCM specialist is a special case, because, well basically, the "official skills" were "created" by EW...after I did versions of them and posted them online.)
Yes, I have, in over a dozen countries. I've found the Korean ones that doll up like satanic-looking geisha and operate like assembly lines to be the scariest.Geronimo 2.0 wrote:While I think it is pretty awesome that you would include the oldest proffession, i think you need to see some that aren't in movies with Tom Cruise or Richard Geere before you write something like this:Criminal: Pimp/Prostitute

Have you ever seen a street walker?
Yup, damn near every day where I currently am.I mean a REAL street walkin' crack smokin hooker with more jail house tatoos than teeth?
True, for the average street walker, but not all prostitutes are streetwalkers. This occupation also covers highly paid courtesans who do work out and work at seduction. These girls are ot in shape and they don't work out at the gym. Seduction? No, they don't have to seduce, the john comes to them and it is pretty utilitarian and quick.
Exactly, like many of the occupations in BTS2, this one covers the whole gamut of people in that profession. They don't talk anybody into anything. I know three women and one man who were prostitutes. One was stabbed by a psycho john and another died from smoking crack, but none had what you could call good grooming and a sense wardrobe (these suckers were doing good if their shoes matched). Now, high class call girls (I know two) got their stuff together and their Pimp/Madam (You see the stuff on TV about the Canal Street Madam? Yes, I know her through an old asociate) didn't use beatings and knives to keep girls in line or johns in their place. She had Cops that she bought off to take care of that for her.

Heh. One of my friends ran into an old friend from high school a while back and asked her out on a date. Halfway through the date, he found out she was working as a prostitute. Good night, folks.

Just because an OCC exists for a given profession, doesn't mean that someone working in that profession has that OCC, or has everything that the OCC should have. Ever gone to see a doctor only to decide that he's a quack? Would you call the insane speedfreak neighbor that works on cars a real mechanic?
So, most streetwalkers wouldn't have the Prostitute OCC. The few that do, would most likely graduate off the street in a fairly short period of time. The rest are basically "the insane speedfreak variety of mechanic".
Just call them vagabonds or whatever, give them maybe a dozen skills (if that), modify stats to reflect years of heavy drug use, and there you go.
Awesome list BTW.
IMHO This should be sticky'd.
