Somewhere in the Megaverse, there is a demonic being known as the Spamaster who delights in this sort of thing....

They don't work well in alcohol...
Hence the lack of success of 'Eylor Tequila'(as opposed to 'Zembhak Tequila')...

I think of a clalice, which includes a small EoE,
and neutralises any poison or other harmfull
components in liquids poured into them.
A usual piece of High Lord dinner set, thought
it is verrry disturbing when you drink, and
something looks at you from under you milk....

You can always take it out of the drink and treat it with Visine to prove it takes the red out!

That's mystic alchemy for ypu...medications for when a supernatural constitution just isn't enough...
The Splugorth probably have little EoEs in pickle jars or olive-jars wired like thelittle handheld medscanners from 'Star Trek', set to cast general healing and preventative spells for quick treatment...part of a general medkit including medicinal microbes and magical herbs, next to the high-tech scanners and hypodispensers....

Another good reason for hold-out vibroblades and blasters if you're worried about being swallowed alive...

by taalismn
That's why we need to develop extra armor options, like an acid-resistant 'memory metal' that suddenly sprouts 6-12 inch spikes when activated by digestive juices....
That's why an EoE embedded in armor can be asset, though if the swallowing beastie is magic-resistant, whatever the Eye can do is likely to be much diminished or negated...Though the EoE could be used as an 'autopilot' for triggering built-in techno-weaponry like short-range 'irritant' shotgun pods....

I've always run it like this. If it's MDC on the outside it's MDC on the inside. And the same with SDC.

Since EoE are stated to be not smaller than a baseball,
swallowing one whole is out of question (at least for
a good deal of minion and slave races).
On the other hand, if the Eyes are programmed for
medical pusposes, with diagnostic and healing spells
they are used externally - just as Taalism wrote.

Of course, swallowing a perma-glass encased softball might not be such a problem for some of the larger supernaturals with large digestive tracts...this might be a useful diagnostic tool(similar to the 'camera pills' being tested for real nowadays) for supernaturals with natural immunities to magic(including diagnostic probes of a magical nature) or scanner-opaque hides.
(yep....I read James White's 'Sector General' stories as a youngster...)

It is scary enough for a critter to be resistant to magic
(not to mention immunities) but having them immune
to detections...
...how about dog (boys) and psi-stalkers?

Not necessarily general detection, but internal scrutiny...like trying to do a CAT scan of an elephant with a traffic radar gun....You can see it, tell it's there, but you can't tell what's inside it without something more specific to the task...

Nope, image shows eyes emergng from a planetary surface...but that could be conjecture...there may be multiple types of Eyes, some of which haven't been canonically defined(and thus open to creation by players).
