From Chuck Walton, on his DeviantArt page- posted with his permission here-

Palladium needs to get a new Fantasy book or PF several books (LOD3, lopan, Isle of the cyclops, etc.) out actually. I agree wholeheartedly and I also make mention of this very often when I go into the office. I am also pushing for ideas that are not stereotypical for fantasy since Pathfinder and D& D seem to have the genre on lock, for the moment. There is just so much going on with RRT and the need to finish NG2 and Megaverse in Flames, I am curious to see what else is completed, though I think there will be more this year than last.
As to a Chuck and Mumah dueling in Fantasy artwork, I will always be prepared for a good time. (Zyanitevp note- This was in response to me stating that I wanted a Mumah/Walton duel of Fantasy art)

Which ever one allows you to run a Ludacris Mage of course.
edit - And let us not forget, every Ludacris mage needs a good theme song. I prefer a surf guitar/old west feeling song like El Borracho -

That would be a large book... but also kewl. But a Palladium FRPG Ultimate Edition, or a revised 2nd edition if you will, could be doable.

I'm so excited to get a hardcover pfrpg main book, that I would wrestle a tusker. I would be even more excited to get a new pfrpg sourcebook. Even if it was on the mating habits of the Wolly Dragon.

There is a report button if you are concerned about this. Otherwise, keep your grievances about the RTT threads out of this thread, and address the mods directly about your concerns. I already worked in the beginning to keep this thread in All Things Palladium Books when it was suggested by some that it should be moved, by presenting my case to the mods. I believe that the RRT threads about the Kickstarter and how it is being handled should remain in this forum, as well. Just please don't drag those of us that already worked to keep our threads here into your own fight, unless you are going to point at them as a reason why the RRT threads should remain. Thanks.

With all due respect the mods keep removing RRT threads but not any of the others. Sorry mate I feel for you I do, but this hamfisted way of picking on some and not others is getting ridiculous. On the plus side Kevin said he's getting some PF books out later this year and next. So that should in essence be a cause of joy and the need for this thread moot. Unless you and the mods don't think it will happen this or next year with the new books? I mean it's in the latest murmur my friend.

I'm of the opinion that Kev really doesn't give a damn about the PFRPG line. What was the last book that he actually wrote for PFRPG? When was it released? The lack of attention and quality of the most recent release shows this in spades.
Facts are he's not interested in a quality fantasy line of product unless he can somehow tie it in with Rifts. So the only hope this line really has is if someone competent and enthusiastic comes along and picks it up. (IE Like Bill Coffin did)
Don't believe the hype he puts in the occasional news letter or random post on the boards. It's total BS. He is just stringing people along and hopes they buy merchandise on one of the other lines while waiting for new PFRPG books.
Seriously if this line was any sort of priority we would have seen something in the last 4 YEARS. I'm sure that PB took preorders for Land of the Damned 3 that if the book ever actually sees print all of the preorders will be invalid as the credit cards used to place those orders will all have expired.
Face it. Kev S doesn't care about PFRPG.

No, he cares a lot. That and he's also a business man. Strange as it is those are the two primary contributing factors limiting fantasy books.
He personally ran a game of PFRPG at Detroit Fanfare, and his enthusiasm for the game is clear to see if you talk to him in person, or if you see how he writes about it. The problem has to do with he does not think anyone gets the Palladium World right most of the time. He's good letting people develop world books and dimension books for Rifts, but he is very protective of the Palladium World (Palladia). I believe he thinks if he wants the Palladium World done right, he's going to have to do it himself. Which is fine with me,
as long as the Books actually get made. With the Robotech license, they have/had to move on it while they have it, and Rifts supposedly brings in the cash flow, so I can't fault him for that.
Brian Campbell I think could do a good job (Would love to see at least one Jeretlan book), and Mark Hall as well. I have no idea if they're interested in trying to write anything for the Palladium World though. With the job he did on Lemuria, I would be interested to see what Greg Diaczyk could do if he had an interest in PFRPG. That being said, I high doubt that I will see an Old Kingdoms books set, unless Kevin himself makes time to do it. With all he has going on, unless I suddenly develop a fantastic ability to write, all I can do is hope.

Wow, so infighting between different projects moves this thread? Might as well move the Splicers threads, the Rifts threads, etc. That NG2 release thread- move it to Rifts! Does not matter that Alex created it!
Come on! This one was ridiculous- Please leave things alone. The Mods are not out to get you!

Ok fine he may care a little.. Just not enough to do anything. He has lots of things he can do with this but opts not to. Maybe he wants to do it himself but that's just not gonna happen. Seriously what was the last full book he wrote on his own that was either new or not a update from the 1st edition? 10-15 years ago or longer? How many books for the other lines in that time?
He personally ran a game of PFRPG at Detroit Fanfare, and his enthusiasm for the game is clear to see if you talk to him in person, or if you see how he writes about it.
So all talk..

Have you even looked at the list? For the most part he's just updated 1st Edition Books.
2nd Edition PFRPG Books By Author:Kevin SCore Book
Updated from 1st EditionThe Old Ones
Updated from 1st EditionMonsters & Animals
Updated from 1st EditionKev S & Erick WDragons & Gods
Adventures on the High Seas
Updated from 1st EditionSteve Edwards & Kev SEastern Territories
Erick Wujcik, Kevin Siembieda, Bill Coffin and others.Wolfen Empire
Updated from 1st Edition was Adventures in the Northern Wilderness and Further Adventures in the Northern WildernessMark Hall & Kev SMysteries of Magic
Bill CoffinWestern Empire
Baalgor Wastelands
Mount Nimro
Library of Bletherad
Northern Hinterlands
Land of the Damned 1
Land of the Damned 2
So things that were not revisons and are "new" in the line for 2nd Editon with Kev writing is Mysteries of Magic and Eastern Territories. Dragons & Gods as well, although I think a lot of that may have been revisions as things got moved about from 1st edtion to 2nd edition.
So total of 2 books that were not total revisions of 1st edition books. TWO! Ya know when the 2nd edition was launched? I believe it was around the mid 90s (1996?)
Bill Coffin did 7 books, actually 8 if LOTD 3 ever gets released. We know he submitted the manuscript before he left.
With the Robotech license, they have/had to move on it while they have it, and Rifts supposedly brings in the cash flow, so I can't fault him for that.
And you just made my point. If he so LOVES the PFRPG line an has this big passion for it, why has he done so little? The argument that he wants to do it himeslf seems weak as does that most people don't get it. Clearly plenty of people "get it" and it's clearly not his "baby" as so many people have contributed to the line. This leads me to believe he just doesn't care enough to actually do something with it.
More likely he's letting it sit in hopes another Bill Coffin will come along.
Brian Campbell I think could do a good job (Would love to see at least one Jeretlan book), and Mark Hall as well.
Mark Hall wrote Mysteries of Magic and if what I've read on the boards is any indicaton he submitted more but it's awaitng processing/editing. My thoughts on the MOM book is that it was a hack job. Not for the writing but for the reprints and missing info that should have been caught by the editor.
Sorry but I think the final product didn't live up not only to the hype, but also it didn't live up to the normal quality that PB puts out.
That being said, I high doubt that I will see an Old Kingdoms books set, unless Kevin himself makes time to do it. With all he has going on, unless I suddenly develop a fantastic ability to write, all I can do is hope.
And my point all along is that the PFRPG isn't a passion or priority for Kev S. He's more into Rifts and following the trends releasing another Zobmie Apoclaypse RPG than actually doing some writing and fleshign out the PFRPG.
I've liked the PFRPG for a long time and I'm convinced that the next actual Book we get (Lets face it Mysteries of Magic is not a full book, it's the size of a Rifter) will be the result of somoene else taking the initiative and writing and/or Kev S dies and the estate sells off whatever notes/scraps actually exist.
But hey while you are waiting you can totally pick up Rifts World Book 76: Disneyland Ruins

Rifts West Coast/Disneyland Ruins! I've been waiting for that one! Should be totally BA.
I think after NG2 he will indeed try to do smaller books more often. Time will tell.
My point was PFRPG is definitely a passion for him. Whether it becomes a priority is another question all together.

Because Palladium Fantasy doesn't sell as well as Rifts and Robotech that's why. No matter how many Palladium Fantasy fans
(which I am-otherwise wouldn't have't written the stuff that you see in Rifters) there seem to be on the boards, when it
comes down to purchasing power, they don't hold a candle compared to the Rifts folks. People out there love the Rifts stuff.
If your a fan of D&D, Pathfinder, or any of the other rpg where a fighter/wizard kills monsters in a dungeon game, then no
matter what game system your playing its the same old thing. Rifts offers a whole different realm to play in. Let's see D&D
came out in Jan 1974. Palladium Fantasy 1983. The fan base for sword and sorcery is not what was back then, who knows if
it ever will be. So if I'm running a business and I need to make money, I'm selling what makes money and allows me to one
day write something fantasy based. Look at the latest of freelancers writing Rifts material, do you think its Kevin telling them
to write all the Rifts stuff, no. Their writing Rifts stuff because they love the Rifts games. You go the Open House, half of the
games are Rifts games. HU, Nightbane, Fantasy, and others have their place, but they will never hold a candle to the
Rifts fan base. Even if one of the freelancers who wrote the top selling Rifts book (not sure which one it is), wrote a Fantasy
book, it's not going to sell more then their Rifts book. It not the author, it's the genre. Now that being said, Kevin sounds like
he's getting a fantasy itch, maybe some freelancers (hopefully myself) and some movies have inspired him to return to his
beloved game. Let's just see. But I'll tell you what, when Kevin sees some fantasy stuff he likes, his creative juices go into
overdrive. Just be patient (I sure am) and be a fan of all Palladium material
.
