I've been using this map in my current campaign. The players are in Wisconsin, I'm just wondering if you have marked Madison and Lake Geneva because of a mention in a book? If so what is there and can someone give me a reference to which book?

Aftermath page 130.
A leyline nexus is located at Lake Geneva.
Madison was one of several places listed that was bombed into a massive wasteland.
Both Lake Geneva and Madison have established CS military installations nearby no information on the bases given.

Sure. Check out pg 29 from RUE. :-D

All references in the map are from an official source...on the other hand, I can't hardly remember where did I get them (not this case, anyway).

Thanks for that, the description in Aftermath and RUE are almost identical.

mobuttu; did you get the ley line locations from a map or did you extrapolate from the locations of the ley line nexuses?

Some are from maps (when detailed), some are extrapolated from descriptions (ex: "there is a ley line that goes from here to there"), some others are estimated from vague references in the books. What I didn't do is to draw a ley line not mentioned (although some of them could be wrong as they are from my own interpretation of the descriptions in the books).

I think the map might be a cool idea for a product, make it something about poster size. And if possible he should get some sort of payment for his work like a free lance artist whould. Do not know about others but i whould by a poster size map of rifts north america and hang it in the gamming room. Could also be a stuffer for the x-mas grab bag.

Very nice map. A few things are a bit different from what I'd thought but very very nice and good to have all consolidated.

It'd be nice if Palladium put out something like this. Shadowrun just put out the 6th world almanac.

A rifts version would be awesome.

They will have to finish the world first. I'm sure once there are sufficient world books to cover RIFTS Earth then that would be kewl.

Sure.

I just got a North America map (discussed here) and then reviewed every worldbook to place every location/region/ley line/etc. named on them. I used google earth and internet resources to locate places I didn't knew (I increased my NA geography knowledge ten fold! ;).

The software used was a CAD program.

They could do one for just NA and it'd sell like hotcakes. "Aftermath" which updated stuff to 109pa sold well and is one of my favorite books. It had little tiny blurbs on many of the places.

A nice book (( or two books, or three)) That sat down and gave overviews and updates of NA and the stuff they've presented for it. With reference in where to find it in the other books spread out over 20 years, would be awesome.

Hey Mobuttu,
Would it be possible to get the file as a DXF? I want to import it into CC3 then I use it for my campaign. We could also put it on your site as a CC3 file. :) Also would it be possible to get the one you have of the psistalker ranges?

Sure! PM me your e-mail. But before send it to you let me finish some tweaks on themap I never have time enough to complete. :D And then we should talk with Saitou Hajime who host the maps to upload you CC3 version.

I love this map. Two suggestions I have:

The green areas (Rusc Winnipeg stuff) is really hard to read the label unless you zoom way in. The text over the honeycomb pattern just blends together for me. Maybe use a different pattern or put those labels in a different shade of green or just go black.

Also I would love to see some kind of key/legend that indicates:
Green areas are covered in X book
Yellow areas are covered in Y book
Red areas are covered in A, B, and C books

That would give an easy reference so if I want to read more about the Wildwoods Barony I can look at the key and know what book I need to start in.

I agree with both points
Would it be possible to get to versions on in..your native tongue and one in English only? It would make it less cluttered

Thanks for your comments, I'll try to fix that anoying green pattern. Information sources would be much more difficult to take into account as I didn't take notes while doing the map and I unfortunately I don't remember from where I got some locations.

While I understand your point, I don't really see the need to do that, specially because then I'll got to versions of the same map which had to be hosted and managed. I really appreciate your comments, but I'm afraid I'll stick to a double language map. Thanks.

I'm sure there are plenty of people on these boards that can tell you the trickier places. There's always someone rereading a book while preparing campaign notes for a certain region, not to mention some people that just remember the facts well.

I'm not one of those people, my memory sucks, but I have known people in the past that even without a photographic memory could tell you the book and approximate page number (give or take a few) for just about everything in whatever RPG we happen to be playing.

In any case I do appreciate all the hard work you've put in on this map, it's great.

Hey Mobutu I found some ley lines and Items not on your map. If you have the GM Guide go to page 333 and check out the Ley line and magic zone map. you do not have those items :)

Unfortunately, it doesn't show exactly where in the FoM where those ley lines are supposed to be, just a black splotch to represent where magic is supposedly strong (it looks more like a Rorcharct Ink Blot, oooh, a demon bird coming out of a rift!).

No the GM guide has a couple magic zones like the FoM ink blot and a couple large lines
It does have a couple of lines...one going through salt lake city. one going down the Nevada side of the California border from northern California to Arizona. one going from Colorado to New Mexico. One from Wyoming to Colorado. Wyoming to Utah through Salt lake city it looks like. One from North Dakota to South Dakota. One from Oregon to Nevada.

Also 338 has a basic rendition of the california coastline

Anyone have any idea what area page 345 the lower left corner is of?

That would be the Gulf of St. Lawrence, North East of the United States North Eastern Area.

It's looking good but I don't see the legend. What are yellow areas? I take it that the blue areas near the coast indicate the new coast line? I remember that the green honeycombs indicate Xitixix territory, but what about the green striped areas, I don't remember what those area were.

Legend is to the lower left.

Yellow areas are the tribal areas.
