Telepressence over intersteller distances can be achieved using 'Quantumm entaglment'.
Basicly, create two atoms with the identical spin & charge. Place one into the robot / android, place the other into a control system.
According to quantumm mechanics, you change the charge & spin of one, regardless of distance, the other atom will alter at the exact same time at the eaxct same rate. Voila; instantaneous transteller control system for your droid/ship/avatar.

Not pulling this outa my (censored) either, it's THE big thing in Sci-Fi now-a-days and theoretical quantumm technology aplications. Look it up... they're called book ;)

Actually I did play a Naruni Repo-Bot as a player for awhile. "He" gained his free will one day when he got into a fight with a human/mutant smuggler who was late on a payment. The mutant had mechano-link amongst his powers. "Something" happened in the fight and the Repo-Bot went down. Woke up in the mutants cargo hold and became friends with the pilot. Eventually, I as the Repo-Bot had my body/chassis redesigned to look like Fulgore from the video game "Killer Instinct". Fulgore as I called him became a captain of a Starship.

You could also run into a popular quandry in sci-fi with 'brain replication' technology...

What if your Repo-Bot gets programmed with the engrams of a famous agent into its cloned brain tissue....only the agent is still alive out there,,,,
The Repo-Bot does its job flawlessly, until one day it's sent up against a renegade who's causing no end of grief to the Company...a nemesis who seems to always be one step ahead of the 'bots sent after him...

If you're starting to have a Philip K. Dick moment, congrats...

The nemesis is the original agent, older and even better, but now fallen out of grace with the Company...Maybe he grew embittered with his bosses, maybe he was originally forced into company service(and the 'bot template programmers never told this) and got out, maybe he went over to Hartigal...or maybe the 'bot's been fed a line of guff and the real traitor's the corporate exec who dispatched the Repos to rub out the one man who could expose his shortcomings to the higher-ups...
It's a test of canned memories in a megadamage body versus flesh-and-blood and soul....
