I agree. I have seen shows where that happens and you just want them to return to the safety of the light. But do they.........no. They continue their trip into the darkness and in doing os they die.
"Your Grace," she said, "I have only one question. Do you wish this man crippled or dead?"

"My Lady," the protector of Grayson told his Champion, "I do not wish him to leave this chamber alive."

"As you will it, your Grace."

Addendum to 37-A: Don't split up the party in such surroundings, especially if your gear consists of handheld weapons and NO body armor

(Yeah, 'Sil's' faster and meaner than any single one human being, and all you got is a cloth vest, a shotgun, and a few grenades...Let's split the party up and go poking around this cavern system!)

LOL That was what the director said. Next time.... Let's let the director do that sort of operation himself! :D

That goes under Ignoring What the Company Man Sez: Unless he's actually faced similar situations, his advice is suspect...

Rule #38---Starship/shuttle pilots are all either hotshot, rule-breaking hardbitten sociopaths or WANT to be hotshot, rule-breaking, hardbitten sociopaths....Remember this when instructing them to do anything or NOT to do anything, as your life may depend on them either way....

Rule #41---It is an observed Rule of Dramatic Irony that the heavily armored Marines and combat personnel who go in fully suited up with full protective gear and head protection will drop like flies...The hero-types who go into combat wearing nothing on their heads will not be harmed...This either implies a dangerous degree of degradation of sense of hearing in the design of helmets, or that the universe just likes photogenic looks...
