Macross Island

Unread post by Anthar »

When Robotech first aired, I had a globe in my room and i had found Macross Island on it. Now the spelling was just slightly different but close, something like Macrosse or Maccross, I'm not sure exactly. I can't find it on the internet, because all of my searches get changed into Macross. I looked around in different map programs in the area that I remember the island being and I found this.

Does anyone find that the grey streak on the island resemble something?

Check out the lower left for the length of one mile and one kilometer, the size is just about right too.

Looks more like an airstrip to me, but hey - do we have a name for the real life island?

Yep, that Airport Runway does sort of look about the right size.

Thou, it looks more like an overbuilt zent flagship (see M2 animation) then the macross.

I looked on the Mapquest sat picts and it looks like they use the same photo as yahoo.
But Google maps uses a daylight pict, and you can see the airport clearly.

You mean really crashed and they built an underground hanger and hide it there?

What happened to the destruction of san francisco shown in the first min. of the series?
*sarcastically*

Clever disinformation..."Of course an alien ship didn't land in the Pacific! It would have taken out San Francisco if it had! But since SanFran's still there, it didn't happen! See?!"

Now, LA...with the smog, they couldn't have seen the SDF-1 if it came in at rooftop level... :-D

Hell...a good LA smog...the SDF-1 would BOUNCE off it....

"It's not air pollution...It's our strategic aerial defense boundary! Proof against ICBMs and alien battlecruisers!"

Sadly, clean air legislation pushed by California's 'Greeners' had meant clear slies on the day Dolza's Grand Fleet deFolded in Earth orbit...

I knew it!! Greeners are really Zentraedi spies sent to infiltrate our society and get us to lower our defenses!!! And the name! Greeners! Zentraedi ships are green!!! It all fits!

I'm thinking of building a Macross City with Civ3 City View graphics.
