A question for the masses

Unread post by Northern Ranger »

Okay, so here it is. I'm working on something for the Rifter, again. I have a couple of things that I want to submit already and just haven't gotten around to, but this is something I don't even want to attempt unless I'm convinced it's something people will want to see. So... the question is this.

Do you feel as though vampires have received enough attention in Palladium at large, but specifically the Fantasy setting? I know that Rifts has a world book for them, but honestly I thought a lot more could have been done with it. (If the writer reads this, my apologies. It's just my opinion.) It has been stated by a few individuals on these forums, (and truly I am NOT the type who likes to toot my own horn) that if anyone has a question on vampires in Palladium, I'm the man to ask. So... I've started this article. I don't want to go into it more, cause there is a chance it might see publication... but I'm interested in peoples opinions. Any good creator should be.

So what do you folks think :?:
This world is far too small not to want to see it all, but life is far too short to allow that to happen. - Falcon, Ranger (My primary hero in PFRPG setting)

"Unhand me you slobbering son of an Orcish whore!" - Ariana Moonstone, Palladin (Another primary character of mine.)

"Bastard!" War cry of Strut, Barbarian Mercenary. (That's for you James!)

all the sorts of vamps have given enough attention
May you be blessed with the ability to change course when you are off the mark.
Each question should be give the canon answer 1st, then you can proclaim your house rules.

Yeah, the timing might be bad. Culturally, we are suffering from vampire-saturation right now. At an upcoming sci-fi convention, I know that there will be a panel discussion just about vampire overuse in fiction. I suspect from her comment that Drew Kitty and I are of the same mind here.

On the other hand, a Rifter submission might get help for two years before it is published. By then, we might all be suffering from mummy-saturation or chupacabra-saturation. If you feel that there is a need, go ahead Northern Ranger.

There is no such thing as Chupacabra-Saturation. In fact, "Chupacabra Saturation" is a great band name! :P
