Warehouse 13

The Sci-Fi channel is going to air a show called Warehouse 13 starting July 7th. It's about a warehouse that contains all sorts of supernatural objects. The main characters are two agents who must investigate new objects and retrieve missing ones. It sounds like a perfect inspiration for BtS.

An extra selling point of the show would be to point out that one of the stars, Joanne Kelly is the hottie who played the vampire "Bianca" on the short lived and under rated "Dresden Files" tv show.

Im a bit nervous here, SCI fi channel has been dubbed as "the place where good shows go to die" and it may get the same 12 episode one season treatment the Dresden and many other shows have suffered. Point being, dont get too attached to it, because odds are...

One the other hand... while it didnt age well, Friday the 13th the series was a great show (I have all of them on tape in fact) and was ahead of its time. Lots of inspirations from that show have trickled into my game.

Oh, the acting was fine (in fact some episodes the actors injected more into the roles than expected). I'm talking about all the late 80's garb Micki and Ryan would wear... *shivers* those duds were scarier than the cursed objects. :P

I'll watch it, but I reserve judgment on it. Someone beat me to posting that it seemed similiar to Friday the 13th the series.

I'll watch it. But if something comes along I'll probably jump ship on it. Although that woman who runs the boarding house is very cute!

Thats the beauty of hulu.com these days... I dont have "SYFY" channel as I only have basic cable... but I dont really need it as the shows I like to see usually show up on it.

And yes, the boarding house gal is a cutie! But the main girl has her charms as well. ;)

So did anyone watch the 1st official episode? And what did you think of it?

Yes, the latest episode was much better. It looks like it will stay a light hearted show for awhile, but thats not really a bad thing.

Some of the interesting items seen this week include an old shutter camera that freezes people in a black and white, two dimensional image (taking their picture again unfreezes them), "Lewis Carroll's Mirror" a mirror that creates an Id version of yourself that you can interact with and send objects into and away from (Lattimer used it to play ping pong against himself) and an unreleased record that causes whoever listens to it to be lulled into in an extreme sense of joy to where they will not notice anything else going on around them as long as they hear the music.

I have to say that the camera seems sort of out of place on the show. I was hoping it was to be a more serious show.

So, the 4th episode is on tonight and so far the crowds seem to dig the show. So far its bringing in some of the largest #'s SYFY has had (its currently 3rd behind Battlestar Gallactica and Stargate).

While it’s still got something of a light hearted attitude and comical in most regards (think the show “Bones” on FOX), it’s still amusing to watch anyway I look at it.

Last weeks items by the way included the guillotine the beheaded Marie Antoinette and a chair that belong to James Braid (The father of modern Hypnotism) which makes those who sit in it act out their subconscious desires.

A friend brought Warehouse 13 up at work and I was like "Friday the 13th? Redhead was hot? Great show did nearly the same thing?"

LOL I'm going to give this show a shot!

I finally recognized Pete's partner. It's Bianca from "The Dresden Files".

Like the last episode with the sword. It's getting better as it goes.

Spoiler:
Nice to see Artie getting the point on retrieving the sword. :D

You beat me to it... I was about to post the same.

I had suspicions that they just needed time to feel comfortable in their skin... Buffy was the same way.

It's an OK series, but it feels rushed to fill in a slot from previous hit series'. I honesly don't see it lasting beyond it's first season.

So now that the 1st season is done, I would have to say that I believe it did get better as it went and I look forward to next season. I also thought that the finale was pretty dang swank as well.
