Villian Names

Unread post by Kevin McIntyre »

Ok. So now that the players have their supers created I have created a few minor villains to get the super juices flowing, as two of the players have never played HU before. So after creating these minor npc's I have come to a crossroads when trying to give them a name. Naming villains has always been important to me as I always feel that if a villain lasts more than a single evening he has the potential to be reoccurring and a reoccurring villain needs a catchy name. So is there a list with some catchy villain names or can anyone assist with the few that I have thrown together for their learning enjoyment?

1) Villain number one has the power Gem Powers (from page 273 HU2). Pretty much he goes on an urban home invasion for a few days and steals only jewelry with gems that he can use. Once he gets enough stock piled he plans on trying his hand at robbing some jewelry stores for some more potent and powerful gems. Leading up to bank robbery, kidnapping, among other ventures.

2) Villain number two has the Bio-Ghost power (from page 254 of HU2). Has just recently come to his power and does not understand it nor can he control his basic actions when the need to feed. Police have reported a few incidents of unknown deaths over the last few days. He just doesn't know enough about his powers to end up not killing or seriously injuring his victims.

I'm digging The Facet... random name generator gave him the real name of Chase Nicholas Profitt, or Chase N. Proffit. It'd perfect.

I like the name Facet, too. Are these characters working together or separately?

Facet is a great name for the Gem-Power person.

For the second, how about The Ghoul?

As of right now they are working separate as are the other two or three villains I am creating to cause them a headache. However, I am using these as a learning experience to teach the two nubs how to play HU under the Palladium ruleset as they have never done before.

After they apprehend or stop these villains, whether they are arrested or not. They will come back at a later date more powerful and probably working together to get their revenge of sorts. Probably the start of an Organization against the Hero Group.

Think I'll go with Facet and Ravenous.... these were all great help guys. I'm going to have to just make a big file and keep all of these names for a quick villain when the need arises. Thanks again folks. Great help.
