Re: Beyond the Supernatural and Dead Reign
The zombies are VERY compatible for use in BTS, In fact they were designed to be (theres a note about it in the DR book).
I encorage you to do "small" zobmie infestations as it is a BTS world (a la Resident Evil 1 scale) but if you can keep it contained and out of public eyes, go crazy!

Another note worth noting: the big list of guns, equipt, vehicles and whatnot are all useful in the BTS world as well.

I'm planning to have a localized (small town) zombie break out. If the characters stop it from spreading, then it will remain BTS-2, if not it'll become a DR game.

Re: Beyond the Supernatural and Dead Reign
Thanks for the notice, CM. There has been a lot of activity on the Lazlo side this last week. I hope to catch up reading it all sometime around the middle of next week.

I think they all can be used in BTS based on your own preferences.
For example, I wouldn't use thinking Zombies except as a very special circumstance (ie boss or sub-boss fight). I would never use a mock zombie or those half zombie things. I'm not a huge fan of the fast zombies either but might use them sparingly. I would definitely use the shamblers and the climbers.
And I throw out the rules for hitting the head or neck. Just a normal called shot, no particular penalty except for those that already exist. Things really went to far in Dead Reign and I don't find it adds anything to the game. Especially in a setting like Beyond the Supernatural which is a lower power level to begin with.

I like the BtS-1 ones the most.

Re: Beyond the Supernatural and Dead Reign
Dead Reign offers a greater variety of zombies as opposed to BtS-1's zombie-mummy choice. On the other hand, DR zombies are very complex and detailed. It is a style of gaming preference.
In an entirely narrative-oriented situation like exists on the LS boards, the differences don't matter as much.
Cy, I enjoyed that story. I especially liked how you used html code for specific effects. Have we reached the end of the tale of Ashcroft?
