Paul Blake here, also known as Reckoner. It's a long story how I got the name, ask me about it some other time. To identify me on the scene, I'm 6'4", 270 lbs, long red hair tied back in a ponytail sometimes, currently wearing black, including a duster coat because I freaking HATE the cold, hurts my ears and drives my nose nuts! I also currently have a Wilson sport bag with me full of possible necessary hunting equipment. I was preparing this goody bag for another mission, but I figure it'll come in handy here.

I'm gonna forgo the being coy and assume I'm dealing with seasoned individuals that are used to this kind of work. I'm a sensitive, so I try combining going with my gut and actual investigative work. I also studied psychology, so I may not be a perfect profiler, but it's better than nothing. I've been checking out the house doing recon, the first night I arrived I was getting some interesting pings. There was something dark, not in physical appearance, but something not good coming from the roof area, but then it seemed to cloak itself from my sensing it. As for KT, the guy's aura is...interesting. I've encountered people like him before, but something feels like it's...I dunno, fluctuating. If I had to guess, have you ever had that feeling like something was wrong but couldn't put your finger on it, so you fret and worry yourself sick trying to find out what's wrong? If I had to wager a guess, it's like that for the guy, at least on a subconscious level. I also felt something positive in the home, like pure positivity and well wishes, like something or someone in his house might have been blessed. I know nothing about this guy's background or history with the LS, so I can't make any detailed guess what it could be.

This was all prompted by a vision by Genesis, quote:
His totem is and always has been the tortoise... I just saw a vision of a tortoise crawling along the beach. A pack of ants have been slowly eating holes into its shell, and the tortoise doesn't even know. As they erode his shell, they whisper into his ear, and he slowly starts to deviate from his course, and is soon walking in circles, his shell only a tattered husk around him...and there's a falcon coming in for a kill.

I don't know who or what the falcon is or represents, nor do I know what the ants are...but I know he needs someone to get there, NOW.

If I had to profile the thing I sensed at the house that reeked of bad vibes, I'd say it's intelligent, stealthy, capable of hiding itself from some specific probes if it feels threatened, so its senses may be sharper than average as well. If it was on the roof, that means we may be dealing with something agile, acrobatic, or possibly even a flier. Hell, I could be wrong and it might have even been in the attic of the house!

There's not enough information to warrant what the ants might be. If it's small threats or minions, something seems to want to peck away at KT. If I had to guess, the guy's happy to have a normal family life, so the family may be the target of whatever this attack is. I don't know if whatever I sensed is is an ant or a hawk, but if something small on the totem pole like an 'ant' has the stealth and ability to block probes, then whatever it is pulling its strings must really be conniving and nothing to joke about. From my experience though, it takes a lot out of something trying to maintain that kind of stealth, so the longer it has to to it while in the area, the more likely we can wear it down, then face it under more conventional terms. This may be a marathon, not a sprint.

All this is conjecture without more info or background on KT. If you don't want to share with me for need to know, that's fine, but get someone here who knows this guy's past, you may know something more about what it is that the threat is here. Intelligent, stealthy, manipulative with long term goals and who's targeting this guy, possibly his family as well. If this clicks with anyone, please fill the rest of us in.

Posted the meeting of Bokkai (Technocrat) and Brutal.

The next thing would be them catching up to Reckoner.

For the record, Bokkai is a young Japanese man in his mid to late twenties ( he actually looks a few years younger than he is ). He wears weather appropriate clothing that is functional and practical. He wears large round glasses, has brown eyes and hair. Seems shy and somewhat mousy. He's also very excited to be doing something helpful. Worships the ground that some of the long time posters walk on. Doesn't like being entangled with hitmen and bounty hunters but is going along with it for the greater good.

Mechanically, he is a Genius PCC with the engineer/scientist education background. He is highly intelligent (IQ 24) and has good mental stats and average physical stats. He has no combat skills and does not own a gun (but he could design and build one from the ground up). He loves computers and works in the Robotics industry (sorry, no mecha).

I'll hang back and let Shang Li do the talking on this one for now. He's had prior experience with the man, and is the least threatening to attempt to jog his memory.

I suspect that Bokkai (Techno) and Brutal will arrive sometime mid-conversation.

Bokkai will introduce himself and Brutal after giving the handsign. He'll be very disappointed that Konthak doesn't return it. :P

For tonight, as in Tuesday night. A distraction has been arranged for anything resembling the authorities.

In the middle of a conversation with Shang, I exclaim,
"That'll be fine...Shang, I just saw something! There's something VERY big, VERY evil near him! We have to move NOW!"

Once Shang's gathered his things, I send us in a flash of blue light to the area, drawing out an AK-47 with two banana clips taped together from my bag.

Ron will be (by his standards) lightly armed, no long guns - but he has his piece and his blade and his armour.

He seems rather more concerned with getting KT and his wife and kids out of harms way that fighting to kill the thing at first. He'll keep his attacks mostly of a distracting nature, providing oppourtunities for the others to score hits or to force the creature to take shots at him instead of KT and kin. He might also take advantage of the armour to suck up a few bits of punishment so that KT doesn't have to.

I will attempt to fire on it, getting its attention. If I can't get between it and anyone like Technocrat, I'll flank it to get it focused on me. I'll target the wings at first near the chest. As a side-effect of my own nature, any time I use a firearm on a supernatural creature, the shots look like blue tracer rounds.

Techno wraps himself around the steering wheel as tightly as he can. Both feet are mashed against the fuel pedal as he's forgotten where the brake even is.

He'd be yelling something about as coherent as....

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!"

Which is pretty much the same in English and in Japanese.

There is no way that crazy woman is stopping him from doing the one useful thing he's capable of at the moment.

Which is to get the heck outta there.

He may slow down somewhere around Davenport. You know, on the border of Iowa...

Sorry for the delay in my add in.

Ron would have made sure all the family was in the van before getting in, so he probably would have ended up staying behind when KT did.

If KT is exposed in the open, Ron isn't waiting to get more guns, he's getting him under cover. ("Quit your screaming, you're only drawing it to you, now get on the other side of the wall and stay out of sight.") with that accomplished, he's going on the offensive.

Ron's Piece if of course a Ghost Hunters' Ghost Gun and his Blade is the Ghost Hunter's Devil Sword, so he will be able to hurt the creature and hurt it well in melee and at range. The Ghost Armour will also protect him quite nicely too, especially with all the extra SDC a ghost hunter of Ron's level could build into it. Finally, Ron also has his Intuitive Combat ability - for those seeing Ron in action for the first time, there will be some understanding of how he's been able to get through all those solo encounters. He's always just a hair out of the way of danger - moving just enough to avoid the lethal connection, but not so much as to throw off his next attack.

Still, Ron's going to primarily be concerned about preventing the creature form getting closer to KT, mobility attacks, distracting attacks and what not will be the norm, interspersed with hustling KT tot he next safe spot.

Ron isn't going to be the one doing the most damage to this thing, but he is going to be keeping it as far away from Josh as circumstances allow.

Back, and ready!

After that thing disappears, I check on Shang and the others. My next move is to contact the escape party to catch them up on what we've been through, and pick a place and time to rendezvous. But also, keep your guards up, something else left the scene! This isn't over yet!

After communication is reached with the other team, we're gathering up, loading up in Brutal's ride and will rendezvous with the escape crew as they're doubling back. From there we'll figure out where to go.

(Brutal arrived in Techno's van, originally. His only mode of transportation right now are the black cadillacs on his feet. He's a big guy but I'm betting he doesn't have room for all of you in his boots. :P )

Just tell me where to go, preferably with a photo, and I'll get us there. As many as I can move in a few jumps may take some shifts, but I'll be happy to.
