Traps on the ground, and razor-wire webbing in the tree branches above.
Oh yeah, and be a nice distance away from your more conspicious and appettizing teammates.

Don't use barbeque-scented cologne.
BATHE!
And if you can't bathe, at least smell like something that the local wildlife doesn't want to tangle with...("Hmmm...Spiney Ravager Sweat...As long as this doesn't attract Spiney Ravager BULLS wanting to mate with me!")

"Whose dumb idea was it to set up the fire pit INBOARD of our tents on this branch?"

"Okay, everybody, I'm gonna INSIST that everybody read and memorize The New Lazlo Guide to the Flora and Fauna of Post-Rifts North America before we take another STEP into the woods....That Forest Guardian was NOT happy when he woke up."

"I don't care if they ARE fellow simians! I am NOT waking up to another howler monkey jumping up and down on my face!"

"And THAT, gentlemen, or what's left of you, is why we know this particular species as the 'Dynamite Pine'!"

"I coulda sworn those vines just moved..."

Though if you have a spell 'Magic Burrow' that anybody can use, I'd consider that as well!
Nothing like an inconspicious bunker.

Please, it's sleeping -in- trees, not sleeping -with- trees.
