cow values and spell limitations

couple of quick questions here, in my PF game as part of a reward for a job done by my character i was offered 12 cows and 1 bull but in the equipment it does not specificaly state if the value of the animal's listed is for them alive or dead so im not sure if 120 gold would buy a cow that is alive or dead/butcherd. This question then inevitably extends to the other animals listed value, as of yet my character has not completed the job yet so i was just trying to get a feel for how much the cows are worth in my payday. any opion on this or huge list of values on things would be great

second question i have is about the spells "animate dead" and "animate dead greater" these spells as the name imply make willing minnions out of corpses but what im at a loss for is knowing if you could cast these spells multipule times to controll larger amounts of undead, in everyones opion are these spells oneshots where if you use it agin you only replace the current number or can you conceivably raise a small army for the shared time limit on each batch? this is a somewhat important question that really affects the overall power of the necromancer class both from a PC and NPC view.

any and all opion's/answers are welcome thanks!

If it's a cow, then it's alive.
If it's beef, then it's dead.
(barring any unusual spells, curses, or other such activity)

Palladium never assigned value to livestock, it's the GM's call alone how much they're worth.

And yes, you can cast the animate dead spells indefinately to get an army of undead.
