How would you want them to be run as?

Waste of an issue really. There are tons of material submitted by fans it's a crime to continue with mastubation material. It's like describing Shemarians that are naked with bikinis that come off so their naked with flesh coverings so they look naked with nanotech that makes all their parts seem real and functional. Did I mention that they're naked?

My qualifiers are: only as a .5 issue, in the spring, and real girls in swimsuits. With the only as a .5 issue the most important one.

Just a simple no.

It served its purpose as a fun one off (ok I know there's more than one).

I like the idea of swimsuit issues, but The Rifter is a quarterly magazine, and one issue in four is too much. If it were a monthly magazine, it would be different, a fun break from the normal routine.
So I didn't mind the first swimsuit issue. It was cool.

Maybe as a downloadable thing. Like a .5 thing, like it was suggested.

I'm all or them, but something more needs to be doen with them, such as writing adventures and related materails that include some of the lovely ladies of the Megaverse. :)

Yes, to Swimsuit Issues.
Yes, it should be done in Late Spring/Early Summer. If so, have it as a ".5" & as a PDF.
I think that they should be illustrations (with at least one 'live' photo) of some NPC or character from any of the Megaversal lines. This way, we not only get great illustrations form established artists, but also up & comers get to showcase their work.
At least ONE 'funny' or 'thoughtful' illo/graphic (Maybe of Karl Prosek looking with nostalgia over a photo of his late wife, when she was younger, in a bikini; the signage reads "Something to keep you smiling when on those long patrols!")

Funny and photographic....

So a swimsuit edition of all the artists themselves in bikini's?

The thing I think was cool about the original swimsuit issue was not the cheesecake, (though that was nice), but the fact that it was an art showcase.
I wouldn't mind having more of that, with perhaps a different theme now and then.

No. The artist draws the bikini-wearing character (their choice, or Kev's call).

I actually think its a waste of pages and space with swimsuit issues, as well as a bit sexistic.
So if there must be one, why not have one with only guys - i mean why should I buy a number which most male gamers of palladium games only read under the sheets or while locked in the toilet away from mommy/wife.

so what you are saying that there should be some male NPCs depicted in the SSI also?

I would love to see what all male gamers would say with an issue of all-males SSI. Though I do not think it would sell as good as half-naked girls...

No, actually. I am not interested in such issues and I think that they are, as I said, a waste of pages that could be use for better articles and stuff about the games.

You know that the NPCs are all illustrated drawings? I wouldnt care less as I don't use it as a wank mag...

But I still wouldnt want another one.

On second thought,,, its more disturbing than funny.

Heh. I can see it now, a male wolfen in a speedo, doing the full body shake to dry off after a refreshing dip in the pool.

I selected other & .5:

I don't have a problem w/ the current way they do it. It's something novel, appeals to the mostly-male fanbase, and some of the pics are gorgeous art. But.... I agree it's a waste of one's Rifter subscription. Make it a .5 - perhaps alternate between an April Fool's .5 & the Swimsuit .5

I wouldn't mind a few shots of male NPCs.

I do wish there were more color-shots though. Some of them I'd love to have copied & posted on my game room wall, alongside Vellejo & Hildebrant artwork.

I personally would love a swimsuit issue again, but only because I love drawing cheesecake, and I like to think that other people like me to draw more cheesecake. Though I don't think a whole issue of the Rifter need be devoted to that. Just a section. Or even a special edition. Something. I just had a lot of fun working on it.

Oh great, thanks mumah, now i'm thinking about cheesecake, my all-time favorite dessert.

The question was not "if" you wanted it, it was "how" you would want it. Thus the answers yes and no do not fit the question asked.

Ok, your poll is going to be skewed in its results however. You ask a question presupposing people want another swimsuit issue, your results are going to be off when you limit their input in such a way. Now, if you'd stated at the beginning that you were only soliciting the opinions of a select group (namely those who want to see another swimsuit issue), this poll would have made more sense.

The results for the "Do I want more swimsuit issues?" question has already covered by another poll here. So that question is not covered by this poll.

No to swimsuit issues except every few years, if that.

On the other hand, ridiculous German cheesecake art of "Erin Tarn, adventurix," should be mandatory with each installment of her commentary.

I think real girls in Full Make up and FX wearing costumes custom made specific to settings or even possibly mimicking existing photos from books. But the girls better be sexy paid models that know nothing about gaming. I'm not trying to see obese local gamer girls with split ends in glasses here. That is something I could see crowdsourcing, but Lemuria? I mean Lemuria... Wow.

While I voted for seeing them yearly, it occurs to me that maybe I should have clicked 'other' to add on some caveats. The second issue that included full fledged character backgrounds and stats was pretty cool, and would prefer that. Just pictures with little description doesn't really help as a gaming supplement, though recruitment poster fodder can be useful.

I voted for yearly in the spring....

I think the whole concept of a swimsuit issue is/was clever and unique to gaming. One a year is no big whoop...especially if the girlies are statted out and given a background. I'm going to be using one of the pinups in my fantasy game when it gets run.

I vote yes, yearly, in the spring.

I also vote for Real females in swimsuits.

If I could choose a third I would choose Other: A mix of Art and Real, with maybe the real dressed to look like the art, see how close the photos can be made to the artist's vision.
Maybe a contest, the art goes out, and fans (and others) submit photos made to look like the art, and the top however-many (10, 20?) are what make it in.....

I really don't think a swimsuit issue is a good idea period. Adults can put adult themes in our role playing games if we want totally on our own. We are, after all, adults. Keeping the material G or PG rated is the best method in my opinion. I like being able to share my Palladium books with my son who is 11. Minis, video games, novels, and hopefully that movie are great ways to expand if you want variety. Soft core porn is not one of them.

Other as in something else completely.
Why not a calender instead?

If some artists want to do a book why not make it a Openhouse-Spring break edition.
Featuring both male and female beings of the megaverse of course to get rid of the sexist complaints.

This!

Awesome Idea.
Although I would suggest 2 calendars, 1 of females, 1 of males, instead of both in one.

But essentially a Palladium Swimsuit Calendar. Brilliant!
