how to make a rune weapon

I know that in all the books it says that it is impossible, and nobody knows, or anything like that, but, there are enough beings that can make rune swords, and then the dwarven librarians probably saved at least one book on the subject, and I'm sure there are a few other ways, for a PC to learn rune weapon creation, so my question is, how would s/he do it? I know the weapon has to be made of one piece of metal or stone, and you need a soul of some kind to power it, with my assumption being a more powerful the soul makes a more powerful weapon, but what do you think would be the nuts and bolts of it?

According to the myth in the Japan book you go through a hell of a lot of hardwork then tear out your own soul, bind it into the weapon, and die.

Still wanna give it a shot? ;)

There was only one sword master who did that (created the 4 Ghostly Katanas that can ignore nearly any material to cut the living being behind it). The 'lesser' Rune weapons made in Japan make use of condemned criminals usually as the sacrifices to empower the blades.

Well the party could find an alchemist that still knows...or alot of gods that still know...youd have to do some great boon for the knowledge probaly something on the level of "Free the slaves in Atlantis......All of them" or "Stop the minnon war..."
The dwarves in phase world know and at least a few of them must be temptable....you can even play one that knows how out of the gate.
If your players figure out how rember its not like making a normal sword the stuff you need and the time and PPE and helpers and greater angel/demon/godling/Elder dragon souls you need as component parts limit production, To make a greater rune weapon it gets crazy, only places with heavy magic and draconic rule even begin to have an almost mass made Rune Weapon construction (like the Splugorth), and even then by mass the way i read its like 50 a year tops. Inless the maker gets pulled from game play for like 2 months of adventuring minnum I wouldnt let them make there own weapon, maybe help with some god or ultra powerhouses contruction as a boon for a job well done....once... but not something they can just profit from like crazy....

Asgardian Dwarves in Pantheons of the Megaverse have a Runesmith OCC.
If a PC wanted to learn how to make rune weapons, he should look up one of those guys.
