What do you do?

I'd blast her, but leave enough of her to collect the bounty. Of course that's after I put out her eyes, cut out her tongue, and removed her hands so she could no longer spread her heresy. I'd also ask my Commanding Officer if I could keep her head so as to put it on a back banner for my Samas.

Other: I'd return her alive and unharmed, to high command. The best way to deal with criminals like Erin Tarn is to try them in a fair and legal court of law, so that all of the civilized world (read: CS, NGR, Free Quebec, Ishpeming, Manistique) may see her crimes. Justice will be done.

Critique her work, correct her spelling and grammar, question her use of certain phrases, and force her at gunpoint to re-write the corrected passages twenty thousand times on the walls of Chi-Town.

Erin Tarn is wanted by the High Command. They'd have my balls if I just filled her head with plasma. Plus I'd feel bad shooting a helpless old woman point blank in the face, even if she was a subversive. Better to give her a trail and hand her over to the proper authorizes. And I might even get a promotion! :D

But is it worth the chance that she uses her witchcraft to ensnare another and get released? Although from the poll it looks like most people wouldn't let her go. But we must always be on the guard for the heretics to use their witchcraft. Thus to ensure that the enemy of mankind was destroyed, I would sacrifice my own life, and destroy her, thus ensuring Mankinds survival.

Plus I'd reap major XP for playing character!

And more importantly, you are just an average soldier. You don't have all that meta-game knowledge that makes you despise her so. All she is to you is a name that you have been told to capture.

Exactly.
You have no personal bias toward her one way or the other. All you know of her is what your superiors have told you and instructed you to do. If you are choosing to go against orders for something you have no personal attachment to, then you are abviously willing to ignore orders over anything and let's face it; You are a pretty crappy soldier and would have probably been court martialled long before you were ever told of Erin Tarn anyway.

But I would have a personal Bias against her as a CS trooper.
Think of it for a moment. This is the most wanted terrorist in you nation, the person who you've been told is the bringer of doom, the archenemy and that spits in the face of all that you love and hold dear. Her very existence is an insult to you, your brothers and sisters in arms, and the man who leads, guides and is beloved by your nation. She threatens not only your life, but your entire way of life.
So yes you would have a personal bias against her, and fearing what she could do to others, you might be compelled by duty and honor to simply vaporize her and take the punishment that might come upon you for defending all that you uphold.

That is a fair statement to make and I think I can understand why people would feel that way, I just personally never would.
Regardless of what I was told about her, I simply wouldn't care enough to make any sort of sacrifice for the sake of her.
That is assuming that the CS actually want her alive like is implied in the OT. If they want her alive, then the reward for her alive would obviously be greater than that of her being dead.
I would only be seeking her death if she had influenced me personally - in a real world example, if Osama Bin Laaden was worth more to me alive, I'd be going for the capture but if he was worth more alive and I knew a few people that were victims of the world trade center; I'd be going for his head.

I said let her go - but not because I'm a traitor.

I let her go because the old white haired human lady clearly isn't Erin Tarn. Where are her horns and tail? Why isn't she summoning demons or making head's explade with her infernal power? She clearly is just an old woman with dementia who thinks she's Erin Tarn. No way I'm taking her to my commanding officer just to get chewed out for harassing some poor old woman. I made that mistake once before and I still have the bruises.

Today, in 2012, we have audio-books. They are readily and easily available - that's been true for quite a while now. The CS is a Postliterate society - audiobooks if not commonplace are at the very least available in some form or the other. I'd imagine that audiobooks that paint the world with the brush of Coalition revisionist history and/or Coalition propaganda/morals are very familiar to the illiterate portions of the CS population.

Also, there is nothing stopping the few that can read from reading to those that can't (or just simply sharing the information) - aside from the fear of totalitarian retribution for disseminating the information in a banned book.

I'd ask her to autograph and number several of her wanted posters... then gag her and throw her butt in the APC for delivery to the proper officials. After she was publicly executed I'd make a fortune selling the last autographs she ever gave. =)

Also if the CS was smart, after they managed to capture her they would use her as bait. Let the world know where they are holding her and when they are going toi execute her and wait for all the "Troublemakers" to come and try to rescue her. Then after they kill all the "Heros" make a anouncment that they are pushing her executuin back another week. Rinse and Repeat.

Exactly. The audiobooks that would be available legally would be the censored, white-washed, State-approved books filled with propaganda and nothing at all subversive.

Erin Tarn's book(s) and other subversive text would be available on the Black Market and not legal to own.

It all comes down to what they want the masses to be ignorant of, and that's mostly history.
You find an ancient CD or record, and that's no biggie- you don't have anything to play it on. Besides, it's most likely just music.
You find an ancient book, you might learn some stuff that the CS doesn't want you to know.
Unless, of course, you can't read the thing, and you think it's dangerous.

Also, any medium requiring high-tech equipment in order for information to be exchanged is not as efficient as a medium where it is not required, not in a post-apocalyptic world, and that one extra level of requirement means one more thing that the CS can try to control.
