Combating Machine Person

I am gming a game and I allowed the players to make any character they wanted, one player has a machine person and somehow got his hands on a P-energy shield or something like it that reduces damage to 1/10, I haven't found any limit to how much it can absorb except that. I originally thought of energy disruption to at least weaken him (I am not trying to kill him) but it doesn't affect robots. I've also thought of EMPs but haven't found anything at all dealing with EMPs in any of the books. Any suggestions would be great.

In a situation like this, I use my GM card and say its starting to break down because of unexpected (fill in the blank) and now is starting to work only in highly sporadic situations .. some times it works, some times it does not.

Till he can get it fixed.. and then also make that harder then normal too.

As GM you have every right to change, disrupt, destroy anything in your game that isn't working. If I were GM in your group this is what I would do:

If during combat anyone who faces the machine-person, and lives to tell the tale, should go back and tell everyone about how they faced this uber robot who seems indestructible. Then have the black market, CS, or anyone else that fits that role in your campaign come after him. Who wouldn't they want to get their hands on that type of technology/ power? This way you handle everything in game, and perhaps create some cool stories for you and your group to remember.

Don't cheese or penalize a player because he got one over on you. It says slow moving things and melee attacks can bypass it, so make people beat on him with melee weapons, get into close quarter combat with him, most ships and stuff will be close combat any and likely melee combat. Also, magic will murder him. Carpet of adhesion or magic net and he's done. There are ways around it, but it will take quite a bit of hammering with ranged guns to get it done. Adjust accordingly.

Thank you everyone, I've got everything I need at this point. MaxxSterling, I'm not trying to penalize him at all, I'm just wanting to teach him a little humility, and I am going to throw some mages at him

The book of magic (and wb16) detail a TW jammer pistol. Basically a negate mechanics gun. One shot disables the field (or weapon, or explosive, or whatever) for one melee round then all the tech weaponry in the world can fall on him

It even runs on PPE clips, so anyone can use one
