Lets play, Where's that weapon!?!

Unread post by VR Dragon »

I remember looking threw many of the palladium fantasy books recently and I recall reading about 2 ranged weapons like crossbows or something that required the siege weapon WP to use and one of them had a range of like 1400 feet or in that ball park. The weapon did only 4d6 and had a max shot of 2 per melee. But for the life of me I cannot find it now that I am looking for it specifically.

Can anyone help please? :?:

Sounds like a Siege Arbalest.

Don't have my books handy, but might be worth a check of Adventures on the High Seas or Library of Blethariad.

Greetings and Salutations. My thoughts had been either Compendium of Weapons, Armour, & Castles. While it has a siege weapons section, it's small and doesn't really provide stats. Second thought was one Jefffar also mentioned, Adventures on the High Seas. On page 192 & 193 there's a Siege Weapon section as well. One of them is the Arbalest as Jefffar suggested, and it does only 4D6 damage as thought. However, all the ranges is far more limited (only 600 feet for the Arbalest), with even the longest range for any of the weapons only being 900 feet.

And, only upon Jefffar's suggestion (because I wouldn't have looked at it myself) I looked in Library of Bletherad. On page 156-159 there's another Siege Weapon section. On page 157, there's another Arbalest section (that ignores the other states), and the heavy arbalest has the exact damage and range being requested. Imagine that.

So the answer is ... Library of Bletherad, page 157, heavy arbalest. Thank Jefffar, since he's the one who guessed it even without his books. Okay, that's all for now. Thank you for your time and patience, please have a nice day. Farewell and safe journeys for now.

I don't have my books with me either, but it might be mentioned in the Yin-Sloth Jungles book. I seem to remember a weapon similar to that :?:

You would thik a heavier version of the weapon might have increased damage as well. But it appears you answered the question, so why is everyone still answering? :P
