I spent over $100 at the last one and that was just in hotdogs. Which for some reason were more delicious at POH Command Center. It was a strange mix of toppings (relish, jalapenos, onion and dijon mustard) I still haven't been able to replicate the same combo....it haunts me.

I live close and I will volunteer to clean toilets or something at the next one....PLEASE POWERS THAT BE....PLEASE!!

Post, OH for 2013

Since the POH 2012 I have been talking (bribing?) to my wife for "permission" to go to the next POH (I told her that it will happen in 2014). I already got the "permission" so it would be criminal if PB doesn´t make a new one!

I would like to know if I would be the first one from South America in a POH or there were others before me...just curious.

I will keep posting here to help the Campaign.

The current setup they could probably do for a grand plus their own labor. They sell tickets so it is basically already at least partially Crowd Sourced. They provide food and space and prizes for the costume contest as well as shirts for the GMs. I'm sure I'm missing something, but also they are available personally through the whole event so that is money they aren't making by running the business on those days and the surrounding ones. Really they do a pretty decent job for the couple hundred people that attend, while keeping it feeling like a family event and not huge impersonal event like I imagine comic con to be.

Right there I forgot they either hire or have volunteers that man the food and merch. for sale. I'm not sure which.

I think it's the time and effort that goes into setting up the open houses that keep them from being an annual event...alas.

It was very reasonable cost wise, that's what really impressed me. I've given up going to local gaming conventions...they're all cards and mini's now. Both of which I think are total ripoffs.

I actually know someone that brags that they have over $40,000 in warhammer mini's. Sheesh,I got into gaming cuz my parents were too cheap to buy me an Atari.

If there was an open house this weekend, it'd be starting to wind down about now (Sunday 2pm). I'd be all shagged out from gaming til 6am at the hotel. Stinking of pizza, hotdogs and energy drinks. My bookbag would be much heavier than it was the other day. I'd be kinda numb, but in a post 'that was too damn cool' kinda way. I'd drive home (only about 10 or 15 minutes) wishing it could go on...I'm exhausted. But even when I get home, I can't sleep. I need to wind down so I thumb through my purchases and put on some TV. I hug my son and say, 'Daddy got his ass kicked...but in a good way."

POH 2014: it would be great if they announce it around July 2013.

Well, then I guess I should ask...please can we have another Open House in 2014 good sirs? Cause that would be fantastic.

I would like to go to my first POH in 2014.

I would love for there to be a 2014 OH, then I might actually be able to make one.
Financial situation is starting to look up so I could probably afford passports for me and the wife (stick the kids with grandpa for the weekend, the GSD too!) and the hotel costs. Gas wouldn't be too much of an issue since the daily driver is a Yaris.
The only issue would be food (due to allergies) so purchasing and eating food that's safe as well as not becoming contaminated by being around others that are eating/handling food.

Tacos at the 2014 Open House snack bar would be awesome!

Sounds complicated, but awesome. Nachos is kinda like tacos...right? So maybe they are only a heating tray or two away.
