I just reread the gaia description and he's right she hates splicer tech so I'm sorry for my thoughtlessness.
so I considered the thought of it being created by Lilith under the guise of gaia just to mess with the resistance and her sister.
seeing as nexus is crazy and they all have their own goals and all.

she knows perfectly well it won't harm anything to grind up biotech.
she *may* want to not sprinkle the ground-up bits of biotech into her preserves, and she may not care in the slightest what it used to be. she may even take some grim satisfaction over purifying it by returning the resources to nature. or something else entirely.
ultimately, she's crazy, we're not, and we don't have anything even remotely close to a complete diagnosis of how she's crazy (and to take it a step further, she's not even really human, so who's to say if our concept of how she might be crazy even really applies), and we therefore are not generally equipped to make absolute statements about what she would or would not do.
