The numbers are based on how old your pre-order was. The older pre-orders will get lower numbers in the order they were received.

I pre-ordered as soon as I saw the option. I have no idea how long it had been online for. I guess time will tell how quick I was or wasn't.

I bet you they do a belated one for Fantasy.

Technically they still have time to do one if they so choose. I think Palladium Fantasy was released mid-year so it is still technically their anniversary. I would buy two of those as well.

More on the topic, I think we should have a thread posting our numbers once we get them. I've seen this done on other company forums.

Depending on the timing of the release I'd likely get 2 Fantasy as well. As for the Heroes I'll post up the numbers when I get them. I ordered mine with a grab bag and now I'm concerned I may have to reorder it as it says it already shipped according to the Webstore and Order History. I contacted Alex and hopefully he'll sort it out so I get a lower number.

One of the more recent press releases said they were working on a possible surprise for Fantasy, while talking about this hard cover.

I wouldn't be overly surprised if they do one up for Fantasy too. It's not that much work. A new cover and print run.

I assumed that was the surprise.

Even if it's not, any release for fantasy would be awesome.

I think any new non-Rifts or Robotech release would make a lot of people feel better.

I agree on all points.
1) A PF version of this would be cool.
2) I hope the HU version of this is just as awesome as everyone hopes.
3) Ninjabunny hijacks threads, but only for the good of mankind.

I hope it sells, but I just wish there was something to get me to buy it or something like that for Heroes, but a hardcover version of a book I have isn't anything I feel the need to buy.

I pre-ordered my copy back in early-mid January or there abouts.

I have a well read/used copy of the softcover as well as a pristine copy I got from the Christmas Bag back in 2012. The HC will look nice next to them.

Yeah, I may have a problem.

Looks like they charged my card today for it. Coulda been yesterday/last night and it just showed up. Either way that is a great sign that it is on the way in short order.

Is this HC book limited to only 400 copies, or is that 400 copies signed

Zachary The First wrote:It's a run of 400, with them all being signed and numbered.

I wonder if it's really a run of 500, with the other $100 being held back for Grab Bags, replacements, comp copies, etc?

Wouldn't be uncommon to top out an order to reach the next bulk unit price drop and to save some of them.

I expect they're keeping the first 10 to 25 in house for sure. But keeping 100 and starting the ones they're selling at 101 seems a touch much. People are going to notice if they ordered, the minute the option went up and they get copy 107 or something.

They printed like 400. It is doubtful they will run out soon.

That's a bit of a jump. I've never known them to do anything of the sort. If they keep extras, they'll either not be numbered, or they'll be the higher numbers. They're not going to hoard the "best" numbers for later.

Not a jump at all. Limited edition stuff, the first 10 are "usually" Held back, if not a bit more. Kevin for instance is sure to have number 1. Maybe 1-5. Then guys in the office would get some as well. They have 6 people on staff. They could easily get the first ten. Kevin also likes to sell things on Ebay.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the ones 'sold' started at 26 or so.

I just don't think he's holding back 100 of a 400 print run. :)

Mine came in this morning.

Those that thought it was 'too bright' in the web page need not worry. It's not that bright at all IRL. I wouldn't quite call it a Navy blue... But it's a dark blue. Best I can relate it too would be like... the dusky blue of the 'old' batman, or 'Cobra' blue from GI Joe? It's not quite navy but it's below 'medium' blue.

It's NOT the bright electric blue from the website. it's sedate. If you have them, it's a shade lighter than the spine on Phase world, and about dead on with the spine of the Dimensional Outbreak book, but it's done in cloth wrapp, so it's more matte.

Looks good though. Be careful. Straight out of the box and mine already has a smidge of wear on the gold leaf on the front.

Got #80 of 400.

I went with media mail, I'm assuming as they charged me a minimum charge for shipping. I put in the presale with a Grab Bag order so I'm not sure exactly what part of what went to shipping what. Either way I selected Media Mail for the Grab Bag so I assume it is the same. Usually still get things pretty quickly with that so I'll let people know when I finally get it. It has only been like 4 business days so I likely won't see it til the weekend. I noticed most of the ones I have received lately have had a little damage somewhere on them, even when they are packed in the middle of other stuff.

Also good to know about the color as I was concerned about it being brighter than the original Heroes Unlimited softcovers.

I chose media mail too and mine was very well packed. The box was massive, and it was packed with paper, around an inner box (yes double boxed) Which also had padding paper. So it showed up in good condition.

When I first picked up the box I worried that the wife might have accidentally ordered 4 or 5 of them, instead of just the one. That's how big the boxes were. lol.

Still I'd much much rather have "over packed" than "under packed". My book arrived in good condition.

And they did. They do look pretty good. #s 20 & 21.
Which does lead to the question presented earlier. About which of the lower #s are kept to the Palladium Staff. Maybe #s 1-10 or 15 sounds right. I don't think I was the 1st person to order so #s 1-19 seems unlikely.
