I would say that any technobabble is good technobabble.

#1, it's closest to a flux capacitor.

Continuum Transfuncitoner., because once you start fuxing with the fabric of space/time and the underlying dimensional ylem, you're playing god-with-a-blindfold-on.

Unobtainium, bah...you can pick up a quart at your convenient friendly neighborhood Paradox Cafe.

Interociter, clearly. There isn't anything it can't do, provided you have the intensifier disk.

Funny. I thought that reference in Avatar was some sort of ironic joke. :D

It showed up in The Core six years before Avatar.

Many a dead man lie at the bottom of the Sargasso Sea because of ill-placed faith in an intensifier disk. Just saying.

It just intensifies the feeling of FAIL when it conks out on you at an inopportune moment.

See, Say said unobtanium, next tattoo cool.

If you tattood Unobtanium on your butt, it would send a message, i think. That's a tech move.

Nightfactory wrote:Perhaps so, but I got the impression from your comments that you think that a Cosmic Transmogrifier was inferior to a Wavepoint Modulator; it was certainly implied.

I hope this is not the case...

Please, even the Golgans have Wavepoint Modulators; it's almost standard office equipment in their Ministry of Ships offices.
And while 'Cosmic Transmogrifier' may sound antiquated, the term has since come to embody an ever growing body of related, and steadily improved-upon, devices, the latest being the Myrniad-Quasi-Cosmic Multi-Universal Transmogrifier, just now clearing trials with the tacit disapproval of the Klo!zan.

Unobtainium is actually used to take the place of currently undiscovered elements that can be used in much needed applications that can't currently be done with today's materials . I have heard it used long before avatar and even the core

Yep, its use in Avatar was both popular irony("But it CAN be obtained! Shouldn't it now be called 'obtainium'?") and corporate laziness("...only from Pandora. And don't you end-users forget it! Because we're the only ones with access!")

The goblins may be using them as nostril expanders.

Honestly, I think you are trying to get around the fact that Internal Decombobulators have existed for 100+ years. Sorry, Ace. You lose this round.

Lose? I'm not the one lulled by the supposed 'upgrades' that are boasted about with regards to Internal Decombobulators. Really, Venckman's mathematics fail to take into account sidereal dimensional drift and anti-paradox-induced quantum spin differentials. The improvements to Decombobulators are incrementallu miniscule and ultimately more INefficient in the long term than the tech-pundits would snow you into believing. If you believe those codgered pseudo-statistics, you must still be using vacuum tubes and punch cards in your wrist-omni. Time to sweep aside the tired old be-bobulators and embrace twizzle-state rugamatics that are self-correcting when it comes to altered ylem-conditions!

And yet I win because without my magic smoke none of your circuits would work. And for thinking you are better than me... No I will not repack it the next time it escapes.

Well considering that you have to have a Continuum Transfuncitoner, a Interocitor, and a Turboencabulator to process raw Unobtainium the answer is rather obvious.

The dohicky is not nearly as useful as the thing-a-ma-bob

Yeah, but real quality thing-a-ma-bobs are increasingly hard to find. You have to get them handcrafted these days.

Because most of us have moved on to Quintuple-cycle Intragravitic Demogrified Hobnosticators. Five types the work out of the hardware.

When somebody bandies around terms like quantum nuclear resonance amplifier', you know they really don't know what they're talking about, let alone if it will work..
When an idiot savant uses terms like 'gizmo' or 'teely-booper', you know that he may not understand exactly how it works, but it WILL work.
