And while 'Cosmic Transmogrifier' may sound antiquated, the term has since come to embody an ever growing body of related, and steadily improved-upon, devices, the latest being the Myrniad-Quasi-Cosmic Multi-Universal Transmogrifier, just now clearing trials with the tacit disapproval of the Klo!zan.

Unobtainium is actually used to take the place of currently undiscovered elements that can be used in much needed applications that can't currently be done with today's materials . I have heard it used long before avatar and even the core

Well considering that you have to have a Continuum Transfuncitoner, a Interocitor, and a Turboencabulator to process raw Unobtainium the answer is rather obvious.
