Special Equipment Bonuses
So today I was looking through some Rifts books for adventure ideas when something caught my eye; in Rifts Merc Ops, a Compass adds +10% to Land Navigation rolls, and a Map adds +5%, netting a +15% when used together. “Makes sense”, I thought. But this got my mind rolling. Rifts Lemuria contains a selection of blades that add a bonus of +2% to such skills as Wilderness Survival, Fishing, Salvage and Ocean Geographic Surveying. Northern Gun 2 has a Climbing Kit that adds +10% to Climb rolls. How many more examples of this kind of thing can be found hidden in the books? What pieces of (mundane?) equipment exist that provide tangible bonuses to skill use?

Wait. What the hell is the netting used for?

Netting?
Edit: Oh I get it. No, "netting" as in the act of coming together to form a cooperative network. Both items together produce a total bonus of +15%. I apologize for the lack of clarity.

Re: Special Equipment Bonuses
There are actually several rifts books that have "mundane" equipment that would add more bonuses to any given skill that seem to stack.... hence netting a character a huge bonus.
yay, even more madness to put in my little black book ^^ all hail the little black book.

Re: Special Equipment Bonuses
There are a couple stealth boots in the AUGG equipment section.
May you be blessed with the ability to change course when you are off the mark.

Re: Special Equipment Bonuses
AUGG also has programs and tools to greatly enhance robot repair and construction, up to +40% as I recall. Headjacks and Vehicle jacks both add to COmputer and pilot skills.
I also remember a rule saying that a computer modelling program can increase one's building skills by +10%, but I can't recall where. I will check my index later.

Re: Special Equipment Bonuses
There are a lot of gear and circumstantial skill modifiers in the "adventure" part of the mercenary adventures book. Boot Camp stuff.
I think even in the gear section of RUE there are other examples.

Re: Special Equipment Bonuses
I recall climbing claws in TMNT or Ninjas which added massive climbing bonuses. I think one of the vibro hooks in Rifts Lone Star might have too.

From the TMNT MB page 65 (shortened due to I didn't want to type everything out.)
Climbing Claws (hand-gear), Called Tenkagi or Shuko in japanese, add 15% to climbing wood or stone surfaces.(These are pictured in the book)
Climbing spikes (footgear), add 15% to climbing skill.
(I would limit the spikes to wood structures.)
Ippon-Sugi Nobori, much like a lineman's/Lumberjack's climbing strap that attach to ether side of their work-belt.
Usable only on trees or tree like wood structure. +24% climbing.

Re: Special Equipment Bonuses
Ghillie Suits, Stealth Ghillie Suits, the Naruni Camouflage Body Armor all give bonuses to Prowl. (The first two come from Merc Ops, the third comes from Mercenaries)
Beyond these I can't find anything.
