world Book 4 Africa page 81 the Protection from disease charm"amulet of the Medicine Man aside from a bonus to save v all diseases (magic included) has an effect if you fail save of half duration and half symptoms.
How would you interpret that vs the Death Demon infection? Half of infinite? Twice as long to transform? What would half effects do? Make you a lesser demon version?
Anyone know any other disease alteration that could alter the DDs?

I'd say it takes twice as long to reach the final stage, but you're still going to reach the final stage regardless.

More time to do that preventative 'eat the demon's intestines' ritual.

My guess is it would probably be another demon (or maybe a Dyvalian) who figured it out first since they'd be less adverse to eating demons than we would be.
Heck perhaps a Ghoul/Nasu did it accidentally (since they like to eat corpses anyway) and lost its chance to become 20% cooler and some overservant Greater Demon noticed their changing stopped.

That is most likely

Sad that it is the bad guys who probably know the most about countering this and even amongst them it is probably rare knowledge. I guess it could leak to humans via shifters who are very inquisitive with their minions. You may not be able to compel true names without a mind bond but all kinds of knowledge could be gleaned from demons about their home realms and don't come with penalties to compel lime suicide would.

Death demons summoned might not be able to directly attack their shifter overlords but they can be very careless with their scabs around your dinner.

A level 3 shifter who summons and enslaves a death demon would have to be careful to instruct it to never use the Undeath Infection without explicit permission from the shifter (and nobody else). Otherwise, when the Shifter goes to sleep it could go sneak off and start biting a bunch of random animals and infecting them. When they finally turn in 3-9 months it could cause problems since they wouldn't be obedient.
They would also have to instruct the Death Demon not to use their ability to summon Ghouls/Nasu without permission, since those would not be under either the shifter or Death Demon's command, and might attack the Shifter, or report back to the Demon Lords about the Shifter's exploitation.
Come to think of it... is there anything stopping summoned demons who lose a Battle of Wills from simply running off, teleporting away to another dimension? They can't disobey an instruction they can't hear! My guess is this happened a lot in the past (Shifters being a big problem of monsters infesting Rifts Earth) and "don't leave my side" became one of the initial instructions given to summoned creatures. Probably a big reason for pacts.
