Illusion effects/affects

Are mages affected by their own illusions? I'm speaking to things like world bizarre. I consider a spell that doesn't have a spell target to require everyone to save. Like cloud of smoke or something it affects everyone. I'd like to get an 2nd head on it. Thank you. :)

You might in theory mind wipe a mage's memory of having cast the illusion in which case it seems plausible.

:D Thank. Very much appreciated.

Should I apply those rules to other spells like stench of hades, blinding flash, cloud of smoke, etc. The ones that conjure/summon up actual substance or effect. Should these not affect the caster, as well?

Those do effect the caster. Only illusions do not

Amusingly Blinding Flash was once an Illusion spell. (Heroes Unlimited revised it was an Illusory spell, not a Wizard spell)
Which would help explain just how it works (save vs. magic to see perfectly well...)
Just a random esoteric .02
