I am trying to place Rifts: South American locations on a google earth map.
Yes, there are some issues of rising water levels and such but just to make a measurable map. Any thoughts on present day town/city/locations for Magua, Cibola and Manoa?
New Draconia ~ Natal? (-5.794360560085854, -35.20350753673131)
Manoa ~ Bequinas? (-18.783420450646013, -45.50576562548675)
Cibola ~ Umbuzeiro / Remanso? (-9.628023404605326, -42.086882462085256)
Magua ~ Bela Vista? (-7.484155274180757, -49.38044265483592)
These are my rough guesstimates but I would love some feedback from anyone from that area who could point out places of interest or possible "sites" of interest.
thanks

Specific locations are less important than nearby associated landmarks, at least, that's how I've done my Rifts-based maps. It's really hard to line up precise locations on something like Google Earth. I know, I've tried. I've had an on-again, off-again project to try to come up with a global vector map of Rifts Earth that I could project onto Google Earth. Every time I've tried, it's been an unholy mess.
It might work out better for something continent-sized, though. I've been contemplating doing a South America map for a while now. I'd love to see a screenshot of what you come up with. Please do share if you're comfortable doing so.

Re: Mapping Locations (South America)
Yes, I moved some ley lines to hit certain real world locations - mountains, geographical formations, etc.
At the moment I am just trying to place them on google earth make measuring distances easier. Hence if anyone knows of a location in that area please let me know. Part of the problem with using google earth is the coastline of South America is quite different. While you can make ocean coloured sections to place over the edges it is very fiddly.
I LOVE your maps btw Hotrod. Your Atlantis map is already a part of our google rifts-earth project but as you say google earth is a bit messy to deal with.
