Relationship between 'rolled' P.S. and Augmented/Robotic P.S

Greetings,

Another couple of newbie questions here.

Q1:
If you are creating a Full or Partial Cyborg character (or a character with Robotic Strength?) is there any reason to roll dice to establish P.S. (or P.P.)?
As far as I can tell, in those cases the baseline for each of those attributes is established strictly by the type of Character that one is creating. Therefore, there would be no need to roll dice for P.S (or P.P.)

Is that correct?

Q2:
And, if that is correct, what is done with any Bonus to P.S. (and/or P.P.) that is provided by taking certain Skills? Do those Bonuses still add to the Character's attribute(s)?

Regarding this second question, I notice that on page 48 of RUE, under O.C.C. Related Skills, there is the following stipulation:

Physical: Any, only use those that are still appropriate.

Does that account for my second question above?

Q1:
Correct. Don't bother rolling for attributes replaced by machine parts for a 'Borg. Your PS, PP, and SPD are purchased. Note the PB and MA penalties on Pg 63-64, R:SB5 - Bionics Sourcebook as well.

Q2:
Cyborgs do not benefit from any attribute or SDC bonuses from Physical skills. They get the combat bonuses and special skills (KO on a 20, walk tightrope, disarm, etc) but not PS/PP/PE/SPD or SDC.

Q2-b: A cyborg gains no benefit from several physical skills. Running, forced march, and physical labor, for example. Body building is now entirely up to your mechanic, love.

Characters going for partial conversion with one enhanced arm will still have to measure their unenhanced limb's abilities for certian situations, as well as needing to know PE for things like fatigue and exposure or poisoning. Additionally, bionic limbs have limited sensation, which translates into a penalty for skills that require a delicate touch (like pickpocketing or surgery).

for a full conversion, rolled physical stats are largely useless excepting roleplay purposes and possibly a bonus if you get the doctor to just duplicate your original face.

there are cases where it matters, but there are also cases where it doesn't matter

Q1 Yes and no. -The way character creation rules are written you have to roll the stat to be by the book. That said full conversion physical stats come from robotics so they will be over written,(PB might be retained if the flesh face is left) so it can be seen as a waste of time. -If the GM allows you to arrange stats of the same dice pools to taste, then you could just place all your low rolls in PS and PE almost like you had 2 extra rolls.

Q2 physical training can not really build up robotic stats. So the skill stat bonus as far as I know would not apply.
Q2 B - yes that accounts for it.
