Did we ever get the official Rifts Dragons and Gods book?

It was mentioned in the revised Conversion Book One that eventually we'd get a proper Rifts Dragons and Gods book, because the Palladium Fantasy wasnt enough.
But darned if I can find any mention of it. I had completely forgotten about it until tonight when I had to go look up something, then saw that note.

Nope, I haven't even seen it mentioned in a few years so I wouldn't expect it anytime soon.

Wouldn't the Gods aspect be handled by Conversion Book 2 "Pantheons of the Megaverse"?

As I understand it the Rifts Dragons and Gods was going to either add some new deities along with the dragons or serve as an update to Pantheons which is almost 30 years old. To put it another way, that book is older than 3 of the last seven people I had at a gaming table.

I think this was part of the plan when they revised the original CB. First they removed outdated information, then they split off some parts into dark conversions, and then added a whole lot to both. Leaving Dragons out of CB1 revised was meant to streamline that book by giving them their own. Although if they did it as revision of Pantheons that would be a monster book as Pantheons on its own is 220 pages.

My understanding is the PF book is also for rifts.

Sorry but I am drawing a blank what is the text that promised a rifts Dragons and gods book.

Updated Rifts Conversion Book One, Page 8, right smack in the middle, in a text box.

Well given that it says the year for it was 2003 it is clear it is not happening. Honestly given the short time between that and when the Revised conversion book 1 came out they where likely just going to cut and paste most of it from PF. That was also around the time they decided to separate IP leading into rift.

No preorder is available for it. (Some books have been on preorder for over 20 years.)

So off alll evidence the book will not come out. Not that all uncommon for a book to get promised that never will happen.

I don't know if this will help very much, but several folks on the forums told me that the Pathfinder Fantasy Dragons and Gods books does a great job of covering Dragons for all the Palladium RPG lines. Maybe that can be of some use.

It does well at that, that is why I was confused at why they would make a book with the same name in rifts.
It could also be the book was written for rifts but moved to PF as part of isolating IPs.

The main thing that's still missing that the Rifts book would have covered, I believe, is the adult stats for the new RUE dragon types. Since they segregated the old types to be PF only for licensing reasons, those are also the only ones covered in the PF version of the book.

Would not have been in the book, in 2003 the rifts dragons where the PF dragons. RUE came out in 2005 and the new dragons in it did as well.
Adult dragon stats could have went in a book like rifts beastery.
