Rifts Renaissance: Psionics Redux

Unread post by desrocfc »

In the continued series of posts addressing the possible revision to the Core Rules set for Palladium Books game (not just Rifts), this post tackles the section covering Psionics. Honestly, this is possibly the most bizarrely underrepresented section, with pieces scattered throughout the Rifts and other game systems.

So, off we go!

What are your thoughts on the current state of psionic powers and psionic Classes?

By all means, commentary welcome.

I find Psionics interesting and useful, though generally to me Psionics feels like it was cut-and-paste from a lower powered setting.

Since release, of the Tech/Magic/Psionics trinity, Psonics feels like it gets very little attention and support, as compared to Magic (both of course pale, vastly, by comparison to the amount of Tech (heh) support).

I think if new Psionic Powers were published as often and in similar numbers to new body armor/power armor/high tech weapons/etc, then the breadth of available power would likely have addressed any concerns.
