RT mecha vs Chaos Demons FIGHT!!

So I'm setting up a possible crossover from RT to CE and got to thinking how well the various mecha might fare:
RDF mecha might do OK due to armor and weapon systems
SC Mecha as well for much the same reasons
Next Gen would not fare well due to reliance on Protoculture and lower armor and limited weapons.

Thoughts?

If you are going with 2E then the RDF Destroids use fusion power plants that have limited endurance. The Macross SB doesn't say how long the Destroids last but the Veritechs have 48 hours of fuel and the Southern Cross Mechs have 10 to 14 days so we would have to assume that older but larger RDF mechs probably have the same limits. This would be a real problem in CE where the SLMH fuel they need would be very difficult if not impossible to get.

the 2nd edition/Shadow chronicles RPG version are already on par performance wise with the CE hardware.. better in some cases, due to the different focuses.

but using 2nd ed stuff, i'd actually go with the UEEF/New Gen gear. because it uses protoculture with powerplant endurance measured in weeks and months. (which can be extended in many cases through reduced power mode, as well as just only turning them on when needed.)
while the fusion power of the macross and masters era mecha relies on equally impossible to source SLMH, and their fuel supplies are measured with endurance measuring at best only days.

and unlike with Rifts, in CE there is no real resource availability to allow for the refit of the macross and Masters era mecha over to local power technologies.

But then again the OP didn't state which ed was being asked about, and it is the only version of the RCB1 that covers RT conversions.

keir, it would help if we had a better idea of the kind of scenario you had in mind. RT group rifted into CE? Demon plague erupts on a world in RT? (Some of the old prytonian stuff implied something of the sort in their history).
