So, I found this OCC a looong time ago on an old Geocities sight and it was called the "Meta Mage".
The basic premise was that it is more or less identical to the Ley Line Walker, but you give up the Ley line spy ball/phasing/drifting/healing for three "Meta" magic abilities.
These consist of being able to "pump" spells for additional range, duration, or effect by overcasting the spell with additional PPE.
Basically, it turns the level six invocation "Energize Spell" into a class mechanic.
What are your thoughts? Too overpowering?

Re: Introducing the "Meta Mage" to Palladium.
I thought there was a meta-mage in the Rifters who studied the underlaying principles of magic and went big-time on deciphering and manipulating magic...or had I seen this one?
The one 'meta-mage' I've been able to find online was not quite what I was looking for. The 'Arch-Mage' was just a more powerful ley liner.

Re: Introducing the "Meta Mage" to Palladium.
I have started making a notebook list of rifter articles that I have a special interest in.
Just yesterday I ran across one called P.P.E. Channeling in Rifter #21. Just like the home brew meta mage OCC I had been using, it is a set of rules that allow a mage to expend extra PPE to extend magic durations and effects.
So, it seems like I don't have to go "out of house", so to speak, to get what I'm looking for.
The "meta mage" who studied magic at its root I think was the Dweomer Mage in Rifter #17. They go so far as to have a spell to create a ley line.
So, I guess I should re-phrase my question.
What do you think of the P.P.E. Channeling rules presented in Rifter 21?
