Sorry, this is sort of a parallel to a previous thread I made, but I have a few questions about Rune Statues & I wanted the community's take on it.
Can a Warlock use Transfer Essence & Intellect into a Rune Statue? There's possibly a soul bound up in it so I don't know how that might interact or restrict a Warlock trying it. If not, could a Warlock pay an Alchemist to make an indestructible Rune carved stone statue but without a soul bound to it that he could then Transfer to? Could a Stone to Flesh spell be cast on a Rune Statue/Indestructible Rune carved stone statue to turn it into an indestructible flesh body?

Re: Rune Statue Questions
I wouldn't allow TE&I into a Rune Statue/Item that is occupied, though I wouldn't consider an unoccupied Rune Item to be a Rune Item until their was an essence inside of it. And you DO NOT technically need to be a high level mage or anything to be put into a Rune Item as the Japanese have a process that works with ordinary humans (see WB8 Samurai Rune Weapons).
I would say no, you can't cast a Stone to Flesh spell on a Rune Statue.
If you want an indestructible flesh body, it could likely be achieved using diabolism (PF2E) much easier and quicker than a convoluted process of using TE&I into something else and convert it to something else. All you'd need is the right spell(s) active on the subject and have a Diabolist place a permanency ward on the subject.

Re: Rune Statue Questions
I was caught by inspiration to make a villainous Warlock wrapped up in a god complex creating life & wanting to have an indestructible body, so was just thinking about what they could do. I wasn't looking for just immortality. I know my posts can come across as munchkin-y but mostly I just like exploring an idea to its fullest & fitting odd bits together
Re: Rune Statue Questions
A) Heck yeah
B) Keep them coming
Here's an idea... an Earth Warlock that enthralls themself to a elemental intelligence who uses the deific power of Great Metamorphosis: Demonic (but modified by GM fiat) to turn the warlock into a tectonic entity - the twist being the material the warlock can use as a tectonic entity must relate back to the warlock's element (why? just for deific kicks). That way the warlock can perhaps have a battle of wills with the soul in a rune statue to see who can control the statue at that time. The deific power leaves the warlock with all their warlocky powers intact, but gaining the natural abilities of the tectonic entity form.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Like I said before I just like working scenarios & combinations in my head.Grazzik wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 5:08 pm

What you propose sounds an awful lot like the Iron Juggernauts. Maybe use something like that as a base?
