The Spell "Throwing Stones" from Rifts Book of Magic page 95.

Do the stones count as magic for damage so that they can harm beings that can only be hurt by magic or silver and such?

So do they hurt a vampire for example?

For simplicity I would say yes, it counts as a magical attack unless the spell specifically stipulates it shouldn't (just like the psionic ability of TK Acceleration attack would count as a psychic attack).

The text even states "The magical stone hits", "throws the magical stone". So yes it would count as a magical attack via weapon or spell as the stone is considered to be enchanted.

If you want some type of reasoning, the "stones" are propelled by magic that works the same way as the Fly spell (used to create flying brooms or carpets) does as opposed to smacking them with magical force to start them into motion, which might be iffy.

Thanks for the reply.

My players asked about spells playing in the Palladium Fantasy world coming from Rifts Earth.

I told them it is a lesser powerful when it comes to damage but in terms of P.P.E. economony this specific spell appears to give a player a lot for 5 P.P.E.

About 2 rounds of range attacks and most of our battles are that or less.

Fights with Were-Beasts who regenerate after they are damaged but can only be hurt by magic based attacks or silver.

Now I can have players do QuickDraw attacks using "Throwing Stones" but without the bonuses for handguns.

Question: Would they get bonuses from the skill
W.P. Targeting? added to their attack to hit rolls?

Yes, the spell specifically says targeting bonuses apply.
