Command Robots
Other than the knowledge of being able to command robots, what is the point of this skill? It lists no tactical advantages, bonuses, penalties, etc. for those that do or do not have this skill.

if you have automated combat bots, you now have more guns to deploy, and they fire themselves, too!
basically, if you have the skill, you can act as a squad or platoon leader for units of automated combat units.
its tactical advantages are up to the player, it depends on how well they can think tactically.
i imagine the skill would focus on how to issue orders to robots, so if you don't have the skill, you'd get lots of error mesages or have bots which don't follow commands.

Much like the Robot Combat and Power Armor Combat skills, having the Command Robots skill gives you the knowledge to remotely operate one or more specific types of robot drone, each of which has its own particular bonuses, abilities, and tactical considerations.
Those without the skill would not be able to operate drones at all, and even if they were shown how or gained the ability through Tele-Mechanics or the like, they would not know how to use them in an effective or sound manner.

The skill Dosn't give any additive bonuses for useing AI robots in combat. What it does allow is for the person with the skill to over ride robots current orders. An exsample would be that NEMA headquarters has sent out a group of robots to patrol a given area. Now you as a player come across those robots in the field. Without the command robot skill you couldn't over ride thier patrol orders to have them accompany you on your mission or escort a group of civilians to a NEMA safe zone, the robots would just continue thier patrol of the area. While they would help defend humans or NEMA personel within thier assigned patroll area they would not leave it without the proper auterization codes ei the command robots skill.
You sure Smkeyes? It says "Knowledge in the operation, deployment and strategic use of NEMA..."
The Robo-Grunts are programmed to recognize and obey Robot Commanders (Military Specialist) and NEMA officers above the rank of Captain.
That means anyone with a Captain or higher rank can command them, not just someone with the Command Robots skill.

ah, but the skill means you have knowledge of how to give orders to them (for example, you'd tell a soldier "go up to that ridge and scout around", while a robot may require "proceed to co-ordinates lamda 13, begin reconnisance program")
also, you'd have knowledge of each bots abilities and weaknesses (so you don't say, order one of those dog robots to grab a kid from a collapsed building. no hands or mouth, remember?)
plus, the skill would allow lower ranks to command the bots, they'd just be keyed to that operator as primary commander

I get the impression that you need the skill to give complicated orders to the Robots, or to organize them for squad tactics and similar.
Any NEMA member can give an order to a robot.
Thiose with the Command Skill can give them tactics, battle plans, organization, etc.
