A hollow point armour piercer?
To be realistic it is either HP or AP, but not both.

The 5.56 is a small bullet, however, the .45 is rather fat and could probably hold some more bug juice. I would make .45 +3 damage or even +4 as it is at about 2 times the size of 5.56 (.233 x 2 = .466). Even 9mm is significantly bigger than 5.56. I would make it +3.
Something to consider.

And it depends on how that .50 cal is going to be used. Is it mounted on a Toyota or humped by one of the (super) stronger characters? You could probably get away with a .50 cal sniper type weapon, but a handheld machinegun does seems a bit much. You could give the heavy weapons specialist the M-60 (.308) instead.

the only way this could work is by distilling the juice to a powder form (more concentrated and filling it in with a ultra thin copper coading so it breaks on once it hits the bug) thats how to make the poison rounds
