I do its located on Rifts Earth:

Known as the Voodoo Lounge, It seems to be a pocket dimension from all accounts and as you enter the otherwise normal building anything remotely technological shuts down, the bar is frequented by many different beings who all follow the rules of the house laid down by the enigmatic owner known only as Star, the "house" also boast connections in Phase World, HU, NB, Wormwood, all accessible through the right door that will take you to the Voodoo Lounge, a place where people from across the megaverse can come to drink under the protection of the the management , that dragon in the corner I wouldn't worry, he's obviously out with friends this is after all the Voodoo Lounge.

Well...there goes MY Rifter submission...

Unread post by DhAkael »

Well before Spider Robinson, before Raymond E. Fiest, and heck, only a couple of years after Douglas Adams, I concocted a transdimensional Tavern frequented by Mercs and Magi (this was for my D&D Gama-world crossover, which translated into my Rifts game) across the multiverse.
Now, looks like every Tom Dick and Harriet has come up with a simmilar idea. :frust:
That's okay though; just means that all crazy minds think alike.
But the bartender changes from place to place, concept to concept...so at least everyone has an orginal bar-keep :P

And the bouncers also tend to be different too...some more lethal than others

A void in the sentient sky
I dream of fissures across the moon

never heard of SRobinson.

Spider Robinson wrote the "Callahan's Cross-time Salloon" series of books.
Nothing really multi-dimensional about the place he describes...just that many characters from across the universe / dimensions tend to just wind up at the place ;)

Everyone should read Spider Robinsons' Callahan books.
Also, Tim Trumans' comic series Grimjack.

I have a place (which I have not had time to finish fleshing out with my new Megaverse Builder) which I use as a plot device from time to time: I don't want players to explore it too heavily and take away any of the mystery. It does straddle several Dimensions all at the same time, and occasionally draws the attention of powerful extra-dimensional entities.
I think I am going to take Carl Glebas' advice and write up Cosmic Entities as a Rifter article.
when you get right down to it, Sentinel's right.~Uncle Servo.

Sentinel. you'll be always loved by the German Princess.~Nelly

That's twice in one day Sentinel has cleaned up my mess.~The Galactus Kid.

That's the best place to start. Otherwise, listen to Sentinel~lather

Listen to the Sentinel...he speaks truth.~ Shadyslug

Sentinel thats something I'd look forward too. New blood in the Rifter is always good, plus Wayne Smith is always looking for new and different things (I believe).

Everyone should read Spider Robinsons' Callahan books.
Also, Tim Trumans' comic series Grimjack.

These are some books I'll have to check out. If you guys really like dimensional travel I'd suggest you check out the Death Gate cycle by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. I found the seven book series very inspiring and it gave me a bunch of ideas for MB. Especially the dimensional physics. I even ran my own group through a dimension like in the first book. BTW, they are quasi elemental based dimensions. My players loved it, but it was too close to the book to be published.

Hey Carl -- I was just reading Rifter #28 and your Shadows Realms stuff (nice BTW).

Nigth stick is neat, and mentions Shadesword -- is that in the PFRPG book too ? or did it get dropped ?

Shadesword and other related shadow spells can be found in the Library of Bletherad. There a buch of other spells and forgotten knowledge that could be put to good use in any type of game. I highly recommend it. :ok:

Thank you Carl G:
I spent part of this weekend looking over various source material to work on my proposed Cosmic Entites for Rifter submission. I looked at characters from comics and literature from some 40 years' worth of Marvel and DC comics (and lesser known independants), as well as 10 different texts on Mythology including Hamilton, Bulfinch, Graves, and Dualiare, and more stuff besides.
When I am finished with this Marlin Spike in my brain, I will give it to you.

I am trying to avoid any mention of the Beyonder. The Beyonder was the worst idea of a "character" they ever came up with.

Yes the Spike.
I need to print the latest Submission Guidelines (the ones I have are at least 3 years old).
