How about a mundane dude/dudette who is a pizza delivery person. They've been delivering pizzas to this seemingly abandoned house in a scary part of town, secluded, dark, mysterious. The money is always left in the old style mailbox attached to house, next to the door. A generous tip is always included in a wax-sealed, parchment envelope. Instructions for the deliverer are specific: leave the three large pizzas on the porch, centered on the front door; take money; leave immediately; if pizzas cannot be delivered by midnight, cancel delivery and deliver the following night.

One night, he can't resist. He's been delivering to this place for weeks (the last driver quit work, moved away and is reportedly insane). He drives away, stops, parks and sneaks back to get a glimpse of someone or something scary stooping down, in the shadows, to retrieve the pizza.

He sneaks up to the house, peeks inside a broken window and sees: EVIL CLOWNS munching on pizza and they notice him, chase him to his car, laughing all the way and throwing slices at him, taunting him with vile language, odd verb combinations, impossible puns and their maniacal laughter. He makes it to the car, fumbles for the keys while they smash the windows, poking their heads in, licking him with long tongues while trying to bite. He drives off! Just in time!

But... he has qwerks now... laughs inappropriately, talks a little odd, says nonsense words and chuckles to himself, giggles awkwardly. But he's bent on stopping them and is taken in by a group of people who realize what he's been through. He finds his focus in stopping the evil tide of supernatural beings from seeping into our world. Sure he hates clowns and tries to kill the evil ones, but werewolves, vampires and other things that go bump in the night better watch outl.

i have a character. An albino that at the beginning of the game had no idea that she was a demon. she was adopted and raised to be a 'good girl' .. so she now struggles with allowing the 'demon' part of her out in battles and remain human the rest of the time.

sad part .. she can sense others like vamp's .. were's .. others like herself .. sometimes magic users, but not often. so while she knows a flatscan for what they are, she has NO idea if they can sense the .. 'other' part of her that isn't the human guise.

If it was NB .. i guess you would call the human form the morphius .. .. *snickers*

I was toying with the idea of running a game where all the players pick a horror movie with a child in it (a child which survives the movie). Then use that experience as part of the character's background. It would be even more fun if some of the movie "worlds" seemed to contradict each other.

There would be some fairly screwed up adults in that group.

I have a military specialist, natural phsyical strength left over from the BTS-1 days; he was created with our slightly modified character generation set of rules.

He is a part of a government project to handle national security operations regarding the supernatural. Investigating UFO crashes and tracking aliens mostly.

His team's latest mission was to capture an alien pilot that ejected after an air force fighter struck the spaceship with a missile.

Our BTS game is more sci-fi than horror.
