In the Cyber-Knight OCC it describes under zen combat skill called paired weapons in which you get at second level, but the Cyber-Knight gets HTH Martial Arts per occ and at seventh level gets WP paired. Do you still get WP paired even though you already get the power version with Cyber-Knight Zen Combat? Or do you not get it do to already having it?

If you want the 7th level bonus to matter, you could always limit the 2nd level Paired Weapons skill to only one or two specific combinations, such as Sword & Shield, Sword & Sword, Axe & Shield, etc.

You say that like it's a bad thing...

So the knight only uses the zen power not the bonuses to strike from the WP and I should just ignore that 7th level bonus?

you get it at 2nd instead of first.
otherwise it's identical to the normal ability.
meaning you don't get it again at 7th level.

This is how our group has been rp'ing this sort of thing, when it arises.
sometimes if GM is feeling generous, he allows us to select another skill or ability, or add a one-off bonus, say + 1 strike and parry.
reason being why would you continue trying to learn something if you are already proficient at it.

actually by RUE taking paired arms once allows you to use any number of arms with it at once.

the China2 book has 18 weapons kungfu
one bonus of 18 weapons was getting to used many paired weapons.
But it was done before RUE so every paired weapon combo is its own WP.
Doesn't this make 18 weapons kungfu underpowered now.
actually that's the result of a bad copy/paste from Mystic China.
in mystic china/N&SS, there is no such thing as a "paired weapons" skill. only way you can use them paired is if a martial art gives a specific combo paired. it runs on different rules than the rest of palladium for combat.
the styles in RC2 were basically coppied from Mystic China, but then poorly converted to the Rifts rules set.

I might be making this up out of whole cloth here but wasn't there a rule that each selection of the paired weapons skill let's you choose a specific pairing of weapons which you can dual wield. However getting the paired weapons skill from hand to hand combat skills lets you dual wield anything you like.
That's how I used to play it anyway!

That's not how it works. As Nekira pointed out, paired weapons in Rifts allows you to pair anything. Only N&S and MC require a skill for each pair of weapons.

But you still need to have a WP for the weapons you use as paired.
no, you don't.

Yepp, and the Paired Weapon must be able to be weilded in One hand.
Myself and my group do this :
Paired Weapon (Melee)
Paired Weapon (Firearms)
