I know what you mean. I've tried many, but I tend to stick to Rifts. There's just something magic about it.

I tend to like it because you can pretty much be whatever the hell you want, which very few RPGs allow.

If you got hooked because of the novels... then you should be impressed by the actual game.

The 3 books were not, shall I say, of the greatest quality, no offense to Mr. Chilton.

Yes welcome! :-D I don't play, I am more a collector. It started with Robotech, and after Palladium stopped making it, I went a little robot crazy, with no new Robotech books, so I got into collecting Rifts books ( :D Ooohhh, Glitter Boy! Shinny!! :D ) And cool! I take martal arts too. I help teach a combo of Tae Kwon Do, Jujitu, and Judo, with some Akido, Kung Fo, and grapalen (sp?) thrown in. As I like to say, we have a Hines(sp?) 57 class when it comes to martal arts!

Re: Rifts....it has me. But I don't mind :-)

Even made me buy the N-Gage.

WOW

You stuck with it when the first thing you read was the novels? Now THATS what I call being hooked!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Palladium and Rifts. 8-) We hope you enjoy your stay and don't mind that AI behind the curtain.

That sounds like what happened to me...played a couple times, enjoyed it and bought books to get sucked in further. 8-)

All those gamers in all those cities who spoke of Rifts as such an unsightly thing... They never played here.

How is that for a Necromonger reference :-) .

As much as I dislike some aspects of the game system. I still look through new Palladium releases. It's hard to explain, sometimes there is a vitality in the writing of the books that is missing from other games. All of their games have it. Rifts more so imo.
