Giant races and power armor

Unread post by (SHIFTY) »

Can Giant races such as the seljuk kreegor or wolfen use\fit into power armor? Can they take these skills at all?

See, we have a Slejuk in my Phase World crew right now, and his power punch hits like a medium-range missile. Hell, one swipe from his tail will tear a man in half.

Races gifted with such physical power will never develop power armour because they dont need it. Kreeghor in power armour? Why? Give them a railgun and some Legionnaire chest plates and they ARE power armour.

Only wearker, SDC races, like humans would ever really have the need to augment themselves in such a way. the Alien Queen didn't need power armour... but Ripley did to even things out. See what I mean?

To answer you, yes, they could pilot the stuff if a suit was specificly made for them. But in all honesty, it would be munchkin, and out of character for them to do so.

That might be true only if that race did not have internal wars.

You know, a kreeghor against a human: agreed, no need for PA.
Kreeghor vs. kreeghor: Need for PA, definitely.

Kreeghor vs. human PA: without PA, the alien is dead. And he
knows it.

And thus you attack in large numbers... even the best power armour pilot in the Corkscrew can't dodge 10 railgun bursts...

But his Serpent armor can. Not to mention TW or phase-tech.

Anyway, if only "lesser races" are assigned to PAs in the TGE armed
forces, THEY can revolt in greater numbers.

I know I ruled that a minotaur headhunter could pilot PA but the PA had to be one made for people of large size.

Ended up procuring a suit of G-10 Gurgoyle armor since the minotaur was about the same size of an average gurgoyle.

Any armor can be made for any creature....(mostly).

It just takes a little time... :D

Agreed, especially since RIFTS Earth has dozens of
different PA designs, it is safe to assume that every
race in the 3 galaxies have several PA designs
for their own needs.

About the only race that might not need it is the
Prometheans, but even then I have my doubts.
(True, their "non-invasive augmentation" methods
would be very different from human "servos+armor+big gun"
package...)
