Although having a thread around just to boost post counts is against the rules.

So where did you find the skill, just so other people who are looking might track it down?

I seem to remember that it is there and in Ninjas & SuperSpies.

Also, on a related note, I wanted to see if anyone else uses these skills the same way I do in my games. I use:
Pilot: Jet or Jet Fighter or Space Fighter for basic flying ability.
Fighter Combat Basic/Elite for basic combat skills and bonuses.
Air-to-Air Combat [Military Skill] for "Top Gun" Advanced dogfighting skills (half penalties on all flying manuevers).

Kind of. I used the pilot skill as basic, and Pilot: [vessel's name] as elite. So one should only specialized in so many craft.

I use FC:B/E and A2A as abilities that can be used for any type of fighter aircraft, Air or Space fighters. As long as the character has the requisite base piloting skills.

The skill itself is NOt descriped, just its bonuses.

I always used it as the Robot Combat: Elite. Elite bonuses
for one type (or "family") and basic bonuses for the rest.

Adios

But still, one of the most basic rules for survival on any planet is never to upset someone wearing black leather - This is why protesters against the wearing of animal skins by humans unaccountably fail to throw their paint over Hell's Angels.

spacer occ as well i think ...

96 Pilot - Small Spacecraft +15 60/3
86 Pilot - Space Fighter +15 50/3

occ related

88 Pilot - Rocketbike +10 70/3
Pilot - Spacecraft Combat - Elite **

those are the skills of one of my chars ... well just some of them actually ... and i think that it is actually interesting that very few people actually take anything that MIGHT help in the ship their char's are a crew/pilot of ... fail to take, because of hte simple fact of, the higher skilled the person is, the better chance the ship has in evading boarders etc ...

ahh ....

*snorts sadly before heading off for a while*

look, i saw a post on a skill that one of my char's had .. and assumed that it was open to discussion.

my bad .. many apoligies .. having been fed a dose of 'snark' [not by you dm.. ], i seem to have lost total interest, now that the 'snark' has won the battle of the day.

no .. actually THAT was my pilot from the ship that had issues with too many people .. *points to 'star drive' post/topic for clarity ...

neither is run now .. as they both ended upas dismal failures ... after all NObody can play a super smart char and make it believeable ... when compared to everyone else the game that have tons of ideas and 'supposedly have a much lower IQ than their char acts like

Eh. Yeah that sucks. I've had that happen in a couple of games. We usually end up having the GM say something along the lines of "Brilliant Idea. It's a shame your character isn't smart enough to think of it."

well ... the GM decided that MY char was ... unable to 'act' smart enough for the IQ it had ... the exact words 'are you SURE you can act that smart?'

that was the final straw. first i had to butcher the ship to the point that i basically threw it away, then the char kept getting cut back and cut back ... and that was the final straw .. and i replied with a *tosses character into trashbin on comp and deletes*

i didn't .. but i still felt somewhat justified in doing that. and this is AFTER the gm asked that i design a 'pilot pc' ... ... yeah ...

end result ... i do NOT game with that one anymore, nor do i run with the 'favorite PC of the gm' either. i figure that IF the GM is gonna censor everything about the character, why bother running with them? .. to this day i dont game with the GM as a GM .. only as a fellow PC .. for a little while.
