I have the Central Alliance filled with Larmac... only race the Golgan couldn't domesticate.

If that doesn't prompt you to buy it, I don't know what else I can say.

Light Bulb!

First a question, which I do not know the answer to: Are there any alien creatures/monsters other than Star Hive Brood that can fly in space, relatively fast?

If the answer is yes, I'm sure that you can do the math. :D

I don't know of any (offhand) that can fly FTL.

Vaccuum Wasps (is that what you mean by Star Hive Brood ?) can fly but they're not animals per se. However they can have sentients which have psi-powers which could "organize" the others. I think their telepathy is only among their own kind though.

I do have a Vacc Wasp member of the Phase Mystics who uses Astral Transference to move around between planets...he's the only guy that can't wear the Order's robes. 8-)

Yeah, I meant Vacuum Wasps, but couldn't remember the name, I was leaning toward thinking it was "Star Hornet" so I said "Brood" instead, just to cover all bases.

They wouldn't need FTL, per se. They would just need to be fast enough to wait near strategic locations and perform ambushes against mercantile vessels, with a nearby space ship "parked" as a home base (and they would use said space ship to do the true traveling).

First thing I thought of when I saw the thread title was an Ostrosaurus wearing a bubble helmet and a jet pack...
Personally, I think that we have a duty as role-players to try to anchor each other to reality a bit. To keep other gamers from being complete freaks and weirdos, or even psychopaths, if we can. Killer Cyborg

Anyway, how's about a space dragon race?

Giving crude beings hyper-advanced gear is one of the funnest things to do in gaming. Space Orks are proof of that. :D

I did the same with two Anarchist Hell Hound Riders that worked for the Forces of Light in a Wormwood campaign once.

which is why I posted, in the first place.

I believe they're cannibals.

I just wanted to see what others had done with them if anything.

A little pet peeve of mine, so please forgive me.

In most senses of the word, the Simvan are not cannibals. They don't eat their own kind, rather other races.

If you define a cannibal as someone who eats other humanoids when they themselves are humanoids, than I guess I can see the logic there.

But Simvan generally don't eat other Simvan (at least not commonly), thus, in the strictest sense of the word, they are not cannibals.

A little pet peeve of mine, so please forgive me.

I like to think of a few of these low tech races (goblins in particular) as interdimensional cockroaches. A few slip in through a rift and suddenly there in every little seedy bar and back alley
