Fables and fairy tales gone bad

I would imagine that the idea of the fairy tale/fabel gone south would make for particularly creepy BTS ideas. Like, a real-life version of "Little Red Riding Hood" involving were-creatures or something...

Anyone done something like this?

Borrowed a lot of stuff from the original Grimm fairy tales.
Worked out really well.

A part of me would like to run a Nighbane/BtS adventure to parallel Alice in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass. Not to actually copy it event for event, but to draw heavy inspiration using stuff from the two Palladium Settings.
Obviously, I could get a lot of use from the Nightlands and Through The Glass Darkly books.

The Gentlemen

Have any of you heard of the fairy tale about the Gentlemen...? it's kinda creepy, there are these beings, in suites, with pales faces, not like Vamp pale, more so! They are all wrinkled and have very freaky expressions, one has a mouth that could swallow you whole...anyways, these...Gentlemen, well they come around every so many years and attack a town, they take away all the voices, because the only thing that can kill them is a females scream, in myth a princess...well what they do is stalk the town at night, and steal hearts, seven to be exact, and they watch everyone go crazy during the day, imagine not being able to talk after 17 or so years of nothing else...no deaf or mute people, just randomly you can't talk...It's creepy, and i can't explain it perfectly, but i think it would make a nice challenge to a campaign, not being able to speak, or get your ideas across propperlly, i guess you would have to be a very good gamer to do it...anyways, thats my insight...

It made a not-bad Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode (though I prefered "The Body" for the whole "quiet episode" thing)

I've done this in Fantasy. Taken the purified disney drivel and darkened the edges a lot. In their Time, PC's have met, sometimes fought, and not always defeated:

The Queen in White: an evil sorceress living in a blackened wood with her mastery of poisonous magic and her seven twisted dwarven protectors:

The Beast: a tormented jeckel and hyde type that eats the hearts of young women to restore (albeit temporarilly) his beautiful human looks. very recently, this vapire has taken the prostitute known as Belle, someone known very well to the PCs, and has her in his fortress guarded by his animated furniture

Gio petto: a master thief and enchanter who runs gangs of assasins, wooden puppet boys with very sharp knives.

The barbarian Queen Sindrella, Raised by trolls by Ogres as a slave and as 'entertainment'. She was traded out to a barbarian prince, and proved so popular that the ogres tried to disguise their own daughters as her to sneak her back. the barbarians killed the ogres in retribution and she has seized power as the Barbarian prince's head concubine (as she murders her way to head wife)

and so on....
