It's one of the most recent, but I don't think I'd say it's up to date.

I found a lot of the old standard modern combat rules missing. Most notably, long and short bursts.

However, combat in BtS can be lethal if you try to fight to many
supernatural monsters.

The RUE rules are BTS2's stuff cut and pasted with some Rifts specific (i.e. MD) modifications.

Neskeptic wrote:I just want to be clear. I own BtSN 2 and have read the combat system.

I just wanted to be reasonably sure that there have been no significant changes or omissions to Palladium combat that are not in the book.

For instance, Rali points out that the burst rules have been omitted

Oh, in that case, you want to read the following:
Hand to Hand Combat Comparison 1
Ranged Combat Comparison
Weapon Proficiency Addendum for Hand to Hand Combat Comparsion

That will answer all your questions in more detail than you ever wanted to know.

You know, I probably should make a version record of Palladium's combat system one of these days...hmm...

Bursts are pretty much gone in the newest ruleset. They arent in the latest GMG, BtS2, Splicers or R:UE - all of which have the newest stuff pretty much verbatum.
