OK, this is the time to ask any questions before starting out to the Open House.

We'd prefer people smoke outside, due to the books, toys and fire code.

This is the first con I've been to. I would like to play in at least one if not more games. Is there a sign up sheet when you come in. Or is it more of a wander to table hosting the game you want to be in, on a first come first serve basis?

I have only ONE question... did you get that PM I sent you?
Just kidding. Is there one main entrance or something where the VIP people are meeting? Or do we just wander in to a certain room or something?

by AlexM
There will be a main entrance. Wayne should have a basic schedule put together. Otherwise, there are plenty of tables where people can sit down and play or talk, etc. Staff will be wearing staff badges and will help you out, answer questions, etc.

I had a backpack last year. No one seemed to mind. (I've always had a backpack at every con or the like)

Yup, there were backpacks galore last year.

Backpacks are fine. And safe too. Last year, to the best of my knowledge there were not any complaints of missing bags/gear/etc... I left my bag and books at my unattended table for like a 1/2 hour, came back and they were still there.

That's because Jason Richards was busy at the time.
Otherwise, the result of your trust would have resulted much differently.

Yeah, I had maybe 20 books in my backpack. I left it on a table for several hours Saturday...basically from after Braden's game got over until when Carl's game did at about 11ish. No troubles at all.

Kevin mentioned needing volunteers.
I live only 20 minutes away, so it would be no issue for me to come early/stay late to help out.
Anything we can do to help out?

I wouldn't do it. Never make eye contact with him. Prostrate yourself before him and beg his mercy for daring to exist in the same Megaverse as him.
Here's what I read about him on RPG.net:
Size: 10,000,000', but can grow or shrink to any size
XDC per location: 2,000,000,000 X.D.C. (exadamage capacity...forget gigadamage, he has EXAdamage!)
Bonus to dodge: All dodges are automatic successes and are auto-dodges (IF he chooses to dodge, which is unlikely)
Bonus to attack: All attacks automatically hit - and he can strike as many times per round as he wishes
Attack range: Infinite - this can transcend dimensions and galaxies
Damage per attack: Automatic death - there are no invulnerabilities to this - Kev eats Mulkas and Cosmic Forges for breakfast. On several occasions he has killed a GM from within the game world, just to prove a point.
Horror Factor: 10^10^10^10
Alignment: Diabolic
Stats: All statistics are beyond ranking in the Palladium system. Suffice it to say that if he wants to do it, he can.
Known behaviors: He is known to carry tens of thousands of lawyers in his pockets wherever he goes, and will sue people into oblivion for so much as whispering the word Palladium aloud in a locked and sound proofed vault. Entire planets have been depopulated by his insane power hungry litigiousness.
All of the above information is absolutely and factually true.
Just ask the folks who speak of him at RPG.net

P.S. If you believe any of that, maybe you should. Read my thread entitled 'My friend Kevin Siembieda' to know what I really think of him.

1) Is there a set time schedule on Saturday and Sunday for game events? Are games scheduled for 4 hour, 6 hour or other hour blocks?
2) Are GMs registering their events in advance with event descriptions, # of players, etc? Can we still sign up to GM events?
3) Will the game schedule be posted on the website or an on-site booklet at the Open House?
4) Are games first come first serve or is there going to be another sign up process? I imagine everyone wants to sign up for Kevin's games.

Isn't that what VIP was all about?
"Welcome to the home of Palladium Books. NOW GET TO WORK!"
Well, that's how some of us might feel.
One Question: Do I need to re-submit my Games/Events for the Open House so that they can be displayed for all to see? (I am mainly concerned about my Rifts CCG Gameplay Tutorial (with Deck Building) and Tournament Events.) So, BRING YOUR CARDS EVERYONE!

Actually, I think if all that happens to me on may 4th is that I get a swift kick in the junks I should count myself among the most blessed of men. I read arzno, I have seen a glimpse of the horrors that await me. One week after the open house I believe I will be found running through the streets of Bombay, my hair disheveled, my pants soiled,- screaming to the heavens "WHY!?! Why did I Tempt the terrible gods of fate and unleash this horror upon the Earth?"
but until then, its fun to taunt Mr Richards, I don't know why it just is. Why does Josh Sinsapaugh wash his hands every 2.35 minutes? Why do you Kid Galactus insist on taking your lucky Ceramic Cat everywhere you go? I don't know why I taunt a perfectly talented writer that I have never met...\
I don't know, but I'm hoping Darkmax can give me a ride home after the Bombay thing, or at least a change of pants because... you know...

If they are available, I am sure then you will be able to purchase them. IF not from the company, perhaps you can convince a fan to bring copies for you to purchase.

I was wondering this question as well. I dropped the addresses into Mapquest and got the following
info. The short of it is this, they are 3.45 driving miles apart (there is a slight double back). The question I ask myself now is, do I rent a car or buy a cheap bicycle
![Confused :-?](./images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)
.
Hey,
I'm up for giving people rides to an from the Ramada and getting food with me, as me and my friend will be driving to the Open House. We'll only have 3 extra seats though.

...OR...if you're staying in the hotel and want to be linked to my schedule...do you...want to get a ride in with Subbie?
Seriously - who here is driving? We ought to be able to spare some seats for others to take 'em to and from the Open House.
Also - when we get there, why don't we swap room numbers so we can organize games and the like?

Subbie, That's brilliance, straight brilliance. I am totally down. 1. I already said I was driving and would openly give people a ride to and from getting food and the Ramada. Yes, when I said food that did mean when I'm getting it myself and that's a yes for drive through orders BUT only for those that are in the car with us. I really dislike playing delivery boy because you always ends up having a list of orders for 5 extra people on top of all the people in the car. 2. Whoever gets there first or even the week before say the 30th of April open up a new topic titled 07 PB OH ARRIVEES NAMES & ROOM #s. If the topic's posted early make sure you state in the opening entry this is strictly for people who have arrived at the Ramada Inn and mention something about people stating their interests (i.e. Transportation Assistance, Looking for Pre-OH GM, Looking for Pre-OH PC, Who wants to catch a movie?, Who wants to go clubing?, Thursday is manlove thursday, etc.)
Wait a second, scratch that last one!

I like the idea. You have 4 from here in Oklahoma who are going to need rides to and from the Open House.
I found it will be much cheaper to fly than to drive, but I become a ride begger because.

I'll be driving out alone, so I'll likely have room for 3 or so passengers going to and from the hotel. We'll definitely have to coordinate transport, 3 1/2 miles isn't that far, but there's no point walking if there are open seats in a car going the same place.

We're going to have a fairly large group coming up from around here if everything works out right. I'm sure most (if not all) in my group would be willing to shuttle some people (though Spectre and company have special consideration at the moment).
