I do not give out my real name on a semi-public board, like this one. It's one of the many ways to become a victim of Identity Theft.
Those whom I have had business dealings with, I confide & expect a modicum of trust.

But if my name does appear on a Heroes Of Palladium contributor's list, I'll point it out.

Yeah it was cool meeting a lot of folks from the boards. Less doesn't come to the message boards, but I'll pass this on to him.

They didn't give they're company names. After the 2nd call 'requiring' that I (since I didn't identify myself to the caller), I politely told them they were mistaken & hung up. After the 5th time, I told them I had their calling number & would seek legal action against them for harrassment. When the phone bill was to come, I had my father request a list of incoming calls for the dates I got the creditor's calls. The next day, my father called the phone company asking for an active block on those numbers.
They haven't called since.
I showed those numbers to my immediate relations, telling them to block those numbers in case they start getting harrassed. So far, no word.
And no notices in the mail.

Ahh, so you got them off of you. Thats cool I guess. Although keep in mind, since they did make attempts to contact you, they can and probably did report whatever it was they were attempting to collect, onto your credit report. I would suggest checking your report when you get the chance.

And yes there is a difference betweeing reputable collection agencies and idiot, rule breaking agencies. Example - Armor Systems = Reputable, RMA = the stuff that comes out of a donkies rear.

Even better reason to check and see that there isn't something false showing up.

I useAnnual Credit Report

They are really free to get a report. You have to pay for the credit score, but the report allows you to see all account activity. If you really only pay cash for everything, wonderful! That's where I'm almost too. I made several bad financial choices when I was younger and I'm almost out of the hole. Only the mortgage and one car payment to go, though!

Don't pay for credit reports.

Youc an get one for free by going to the credit reporters and telling em you credit might be stolen and things like that 100% free I kid you not here's a link. };>)

https://www.econsumer.equifax.com/consu ... contact_us

The option you want is Place a fraud alert on my credit report

Call em up go throught he process.

This will net you a FREE Report.

Now the caveat this will for a short time set things to have to be approved by you with your CC company for some purchases a minor inconvenience for truly FREE Credit report.
And all the big Report guys do this.

Don't know how often you can do it but you should be able to do it at least once every two years or something. };>)

www.annualcreditreport.com is completely free for the "Report" itself.

Cool I see they do the fraud alert for you to which is nice.

The only caveat I see is they can only provide you a free one if your state laws have that on teh books or some such. so it's not 1005 for everyone.

but you can do the fraud alert through them and get one free that way if your states not available.
