Unofficial NEMA theme song

"It's the end of the world as we know it... and I feel fine."
-I think its by BareNaked Ladies

Imagine that as your cruising down some panic driven traffic congested street with a NEMA ATV. People jumping from buildings and sometimes landing on the hood. Chaos is Cool.

Definately REM, but the BNL probably play it in concert, everybody does:) A BNL song called Lovers in a Dangerous Time would work for a NEMA soundtrack. Even Three Doors Down Kyprtonite comes to mind.

"I Need a HERO" by Bonnie Tyler.

http://www.lyrics007.com/Bonnie%20Tyler ... yrics.html

Where have all good men gone
And where are all the gods?
Where's the street-wise Hercules
To fight the rising odds?

Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night I toss and turn and dream of what I need

I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero until the end of the night
He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero until the morning light
He's gotta be sure
And it's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life

Somewhere after midnight
In my wildest fantasy
Somewhere just beyond my reach
There's someone reaching back for me

Racing on the thunder and rising with the heat
Its gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet

I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero until the end of the night
He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero until the morning light
He's gotta be sure
And it's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life

Up Where the mountains meet the heavens above
Out where the lightning splits the sea
I would swear that there's someone somewhere
Watching me
Through the wind and the chill and the rain
And the storm and the flood
I can feel his approach
Like a fire in my blood

I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero until the end of the night
He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero until the morning light
He's gotta be sure
And it's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life

That is an awesome song, but I think it's too hopeful for a Chaos Earth setting. No matter what any hero does, civilization will fall into a dark age. We know this...
So it needs to be more tragic.

I dont think its hopeful at all.
People need a "Hero" to save them. They dream about at night.
But do they ever show Up ??
Likely not. Which makes it traggic.
Hundreds of years later, people are still singing that song, waiting for a Hero to save them.
Maybe a Cyber-Knight might show up to help, maybe not.
Maybe a Glitterboy comes to town, maybe not.

What makes it traggic is that 99.99% of the time, there will be no help, no Hero to save you. Just still they pray and Hope.

This one?

Ireland

They say mother earth is breathing
With each wave that finds the shore
Her soul rises in the evening
For to open twilights door
Her eyes are the stars in heaven
Watching o'er us all the while
And her heart it is in Ireland
Deep within the Emerald Isle.

We are forty against hundreds
In someone elses bloody war
We know not why were fighting
Or what we're dying for
They will storm us in the morning
When the sunlight turns to sky
Death is waiting for its dance now
Fate has sentenced us to die.

(chorus)
Ireland I am coming home
I can see your rolling fields of green
And fences made of stone.
I am reaching out won't you take my hand
I'm coming home Ireland.

Oh the captain he lay bleeding
I can hear him calling me
These men are yours now for the leading
Show them to their destiny
And as I look up all around me
I see the ragged tired and torn
I tell them to make ready
'Cause we're not waiting for the morn.

*chorus*
Now the fog is deep and heavy
As we forge the dark and fear
We can hear their horses breathing
As in silence we draw near
There are no words to be spoken
Just a look to say good-bye
I draw a breath and night is broken
As I scream our battle cry.

*chorus*
Yes I am home Ireland

Busted by Matchbox 20 is another one that comes to mind.

I strap on one horse and prayed for luck
I dug another hole to bleed
I know exactly how this works
I dreamed that the world was crumbling down

We sat on my back porch and watched it
I dreamed that the buildings all fell down
We sat on my back porch and watched it
In my head I heard the sound
Like fifteen strangers dancing

I also like to play this before a big battle. My players think it is just so wrong.

Wait a minute...this could be a good thing. A soundtrack specifally made for the "Chaos Earth" genre. Complete with case, cover and tunes that would suit armageddon. Not only would it pormote CE but it would bring in much needed extra fundage that Palladium could use. However, i t would take a lot of sifting through songs, polls and votes.

Eve of Destruction by Barry Mcguire is the theme song I associate with NEMA:

Don't you understand, what I'm trying to say?
Can't you see the fear that I'm feeling today?
If the button is pushed, there's no running away,
There'll be noone to save with the world in a grave,
take a look around you, boy, it's bound to scare you, boy,
but you tell me over and over and over again my friend,
ah, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction.

Although I admit I'm a bit more partial to D.O.A.'s version of the song.

the fire dies on its own
leaving us to ourselves but not exactly alone
I think that something is out there waiting
anticipation has grown
the air as black as can be
can't even see that my hand is in front of me
I'm overhearing a whisper "they won't escape until the blood is set free"

so turn back the silence is deafening
turn back don't let them see you again
they make the rounds at the midnight hour and
on the clock it's just a minute away

so we're hours awake and our only mistake is we bleed
and the hunger for the living helps them hunt it with the greatest of ease

now I'm finding my friends
hanging from trees, made a bed of a barbed wire fence
I'm on the loose with my neck in the noose but hey...
I enjoy the intense

turn back the silence is deafening
turn back don't let them see you again
they make the rounds at the midnight hour and
on the clock it's just a minute away

so we're hours awake and our only mistake is we bleed
and the hunger for the living helps them hunt it with the greatest of ease
no experience could ever match the sight of when a person is through
if it's the last thing I will do I'll be the one that will escape from hellview...and I will.

turn back the silence is deafening
turn back don't let them see you again
they make the rounds at the midnight hour and
on the clock it's just a minute away [twice]

so we're hours awake and our only mistake is we bleed
and the hunger for the living helps them hunt it with the greatest of ease
no experience could ever match the sight of when a person is through

I'm thinking that this one would work.

Songlyrics.com wrote:Just Another Day

(There's life underground)

I feel it all around / I feel it in my bones
My life is on the line / When I'm away from home
When I step out the door / The jungle is alive
I do not trust my ears / I don't believe my eyes
I will not fall in love / I cannot risk the bet
Cause hearts are fragile toys / so easy to forget

It's just another day / There's murder in the air
It drags me when I walk / I smell it everywhere
It's just another day / Where people cling to light
To drive away the fear / That comes with every night

CHORUS
It's just another . . . . . . . It's just another day
It's just another . . . . . . . It's just another day . . .

It's just another day--When people wake from dreams
With voices in their ears--That will not go away

I had a dream last night / The world was set on fire
And everywhere I ran / There wasn't any water
The temperature increased / The sky was crimson red
The clouds turned into smoke / And everyone was dead
(but) There's a smile on my face . . . For everyone
There's a golden coin . . . That reflects the sun
There's a lonely place . . . That's always cold
There's a place in the stars . . . For when you get old

There's razors in my bed / That come out late at night
They always disappear / Before the morning light
I'm dreaming again / Of life underground
It doesn't ever move / It doesn't make a sound
And just when I think--That things are in their place
The heavens are secure--The whole thing explodes in my face

CHORUS

Slayer Skeletons of Society
Its more of a Chaos Earth theme song but still good

Minutes seems like days
Since the fire ruled the sky
The rich became the beggar
And the fool became the wise
Memories linger in my brain
Of burning from the acid rain
A pain I never have won

Nothing here remains
No future and no past
No one could foresee
The end that came so fast
Hear the prophet make his guess
That paradise lies in the west
So join his quest for the sun

Shades of death are all I see
Fragments of what used to be

The world slowly decays
Destruction fills my eyes
Harboring the image
Of a spiraling demise
Burning winds release their fury
Simulating judge and jury
Drifting flurries of pain

Deafening silence reigns
As twilight fills the sky
Eventual supremacy
as daylight waits to die
Darkness always calls my name
A pawn in this recurring game
Humanity going insane

Shades of death are all I see
skeletons of society
Shades of death are all I see
Fragments of what used to be
fragments of what used to be
Skeletons of society

Minutes seem like days
Corrosion fills the sky
Morbid dreams of anarchy
Brought judgment in disguise
Memories linger in my brain
Life with nothing more to gain
Perpetual madness remains

Shades of death are all I see
Skeletons of society
shades of death are all I see
Fragments of what used to be
fragments of what used to be
Skeletons of society
