Note that the 7.62X51mm Nato round does really well against just about everything.
Mind you the Arizona Prison system does not use their .22long rifle American 180 submachineguns as they will eat through a re-inforced concrete wall.
There are some other helpfull tidbits on the web.

Note: that car's are concealment not cover. If one remembers the North Hollywood Shootout, Larry Eugene Phillips switched to a modified HK91A3* (converted to selective fire.) to hit people concealed behing police cars. Lucky for the LAPD and anyone in the area the duo were of the spray and pray school of shooting.
* It was in fact a Heckler & Koch HK91A3 and not a Mexican made H&K G-3A3 like some suspect.

Well the American 180 is a special case, it won't necissarily get through with the first shot, but by the time it empties that 180 round drum it's probably chewed it's way through anything that isn't armour plate.
Also helps that since there is almost no felt recoil, all of those rounds can hit at almost the exact same place.

not quite, as even a .22 has recoil, and at a minimum of 1,200rpm you do feel it. the effect of the calliber and rate of fire theoretically makes fireing it like either a selective fire 9mm full size glock or a Vz-61 Scorpion. both are quoted as like fireing a garden hose.

and for a statement about their actual use at range.

mind you, firearms training has developed emensly over the past few decades. If put in well trained hands it has potential to be a nasty little weapon.

However, the .22 has only a little recoil and neither the glock or scorpion machine pistols have a heavy wooden body and convienient fore grip to help soak up that recoil.
Pouring out 180 rounds feeling the same as a few dozen 9 mm rounds s prety damn good.
Except of course they are only .22s

A variety of weapons fired, showing penetration in an urban setting .
Neat!
I'll point this out to people who think that SDC cover should work against Mega-Damage weapons...

Well I have been AFK for the past four days.
When I came back on one of the Forums that I dwell on this thread came up.
http://battlerifles.ambackforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=38955
it has even more first hand accounts of the American 180 and it links to some video of the firearms in question.
Still it reminds me to break out the Remington M-700P(DM) in .300 Winchester Magnum and do some balistic testing on various things I can scroung up.
